Black with a light brown head. Aroma is malts, with a little coffee and some light smokiness. Flavor is light, mainly a little sweet and sour malt with some hop presence in the finish. Overall, it’s a pleasant refreshing beer. Like most schwarzbier’s flavor without being too heavy for those who don’t like stouts and porters. Barrios (1243) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 3, 2009
Lasting ring of beige head. Dark brown body. Aromas of floral and roast. Very roasted taste. Roasted, thin finish. Hangover (1145) - oxford, Georgia, USA - JUL 5, 2010
Deep brown pour with a frothy tan head. Aroma is heavy chocolate and coffee. Just a tiny bit of smoke comes through when first tasting and the coffee flavor dominates. Roasted malty and nutty middle. Smoke comes out again in the finish and it lingers for a bit. Great beer for the style. Soonah (1120) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - JAN 16, 2010
From mcox90 via trade. Poured super dark brown, kind of black. The head was short and tan with spotty lacing. The aroma was a nice blend of smoky malts and some brown sugar sweetness. The flavor was fairly sweet, with a nice but not overpowering compliment of smoke on the backside. The mouthfeel was almost medium in body and it finished clean. Enjoyable. Sad to see they’re closed. (Bottle). Somewhat sweet roasty fruit aroma, and coffee notes. Deep reddish black body, brown head. Refreshing roasted malt flavor, slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, and there’s not much of a finish. But certainly pleasing. mcbackus (758) - Merritt Island, Florida, USA - AUG 20, 2008

Bomber. Pours nearly opaque, and leaves some lacing behind in the glass. It’s a bit thin in the body, and maybe a little watery. Lager carbonation level affects the taste. Very faint chocolate malt notes. More treble than bass. Not as good as it looks. wickedpete (636) - Lexington Park, Maryland, USA - JUN 3, 2008
Thanks to Aaron for this one. Cola brown color. Aroma has chocolate and fruit. Coating sweet layer on the tongue and hints of chocolate. spkldhenlvr24 (517) - Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA - AUG 6, 2008
Bottle from Village Beer Merchant in Buffalo. Poured a deep dark almost opaque brown with a medium frothy beige head. Nice sweet caramel malty aroma. Flavor had a great balance of sweetness and dry roasted malty notes to finish. Good drinkable random pickup from NH.
