Courtesy of argo0. Dark brown body with no head. Light chocolate nose with some toffee, dark fruit and roast. The flavor is mostly milk chocolate and roast, light coffee, molasses and herbal hops. Medium/light body is round with moderate carbonation. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - MAY 30, 2008
22oz bottle, courtesy of argo0. Pours a dark, clear cola-brown color; thin off-white head with patchy fine-bubbled lacing. Cola and pleasant amounts of roasted malts and chocolate in the aroma; a touch of burnt malts. Medium mouthfeel: roasted malts, burnt / charred notes, dark chocolate and some smooth nougat character; a touch of smoke in there as well; a decent schwarz. Medium finish: roasted malts, chocolate, and some dry toasty malts. Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - JUN 21, 2008
Really dark with lots of chocolate in the aroma with a super smooth mouthfeel. Flavors is really hoppy with burnt caramel and toffee. Short on the finish though. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 28, 2008
Deep brown beer with a thin white/tan head. Aroma is very chocolatey and quite rich-smelling. A bit earthy and fairly chewy. Soft and chocolatey. Bitter cocoa and a soft well-lagered cleanness on the back. It’s got a more assertive hoppiness than most, but it’s quite nice. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 31, 2008

Bottle from Village Beer Merchant in Buffalo. Poured a deep dark almost opaque brown with a medium frothy beige head. Nice sweet caramel malty aroma. Flavor had a great balance of sweetness and dry roasted malty notes to finish. Good drinkable random pickup from NH. Beerdedone (3408) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 8, 2008

Courtesy mcbackus. Pours a dark brown, with an off white head. Smells of big caramel, graham crackers, and smooth vanilla. The flavor was a little mellow, dark fruits and malts encompass its identity. A little roasty with sometoasted malt in there too. Nice drinking little schwarzbier, nothing too complex or exciting, but certainly drinkable. smith4498 (3646) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - AUG 18, 2008
Bottle courtesy of mcbackus. Pours dark brown with light tan head. Smokey roasted aroma. Flavors of caramel, roasted malts, some chocolate. Medium body with average carbonation. A nice schwarzbier that is easy to drink. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 7, 2008
My Bottom Line:
Roasted and toasted cereals conjure up a creamy mouthfeel for this honest and very friendly Schwarzbier.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the dark brown.
-A discreet roasted malt and hop duo produce amenable bitterness.
-Some caramel sweetness is perceived in the flavor profile.
-The body is crisp and nourishing, a very drinkable vehicle.
-Overall, this might not be very complex, but it’s simplicity exemplifies the virtues of pure goodness.
