The Pensacola Lighthouse is an icon for our hometown, and so is our Porter. For centuries, a light high above a tower has served as a beacon to sailors at sea. Even though we don’t keep the Lighthouse Porter on our roof, you’d be surprised at how many sailors seem to think it’s a sign!

The Gulf’s shallow waters can be treacherous. Without the Pensacola Lighthouse, who knows how many ships would have succumbed to a dark and foggy night? Find your way out of the dreary rat race and relax with the Lighthouse Porter

The Lighthouse Porter is flavorful, without being heavy. An enjoyable sipping beer, you’ll definitely find your way to shore with our Lighthouse Porter

Nice dark brown with a tan head. Aromas of rich malts with dark, bitter sweet chocolate and a hint of coffee. The flavor is of burnt coffee, bittersweet chocolate.

on tap @ Pensacola Bay / FL --- Hazy mahogany brown color, ivory rim head, bands of lace. Taste is lightly toasted malt that adds a woody oak just before a chalky mouth coating heralds a finish that also has light bittering. Too light, too simple, don’t like the chalky coating. Not going to work.

On tap at Fishale House. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aromas of coffee and malt. Not bad flavor but nothing to thrilling. Thin mouth feel.

(6) Slightly above average. A good beer. Had it at the brewery. Okay balance, needs more intensity, would be better suited served slightly warmer in a cooler place.

Draft pour at Mcleod’s Publick House in Dothan, AL. Pours a dark brown with a light brown head. My nose say be shot, but the aroma was nothing special. The taste was of crystal malt and maybe a bit of chocolate. Nice on the palate and a pleasant finish. Over all a beer easily enjoyed.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a dark dark brown with a ring of tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts and coffee.

ramboraffe (2257) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 30, 2014
Sample from tap at brewpub. Clear dark brown with tanned head. Smell is sweet malty with roasted tones. Taste is very sweet with caramel nutty burnt malt. Not balanced. Sweet with low bitterness and low carbonation.

Draft... Pours clear and dark with mahogany highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose offers a blend of deep, dark mocha and roasted tree nuts. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. The flavor delivers on the aroma’s promise of bittersweet dark chocolate, espresso and toasted nuts. The finish trends roasty and bitter, but is nearly as sweet. Very nice!
