Draft: (Guest at Columbus Bar)
Dark brown, nearly black with red hints...thin tan head.
Slightly sweet, meat/campfire smoke aroma.
Chocolate malt, licorice flavor.
Very subtle bourbon notes.
Pretty good. DuffMan (10423) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 29, 2014
On tap @ Tomlinson Tap Room, Indy under the title "bourbon barrel People’s Münchner". Deep mahogany red-brown. Pleasant sweet smokey aroma. Caramel with background meaty smoke, mild with a moderate bitterness. Not getting any barrel traits, but a lovely mild smokey ale nonetheless. 574deadzone (1419) - North Central, Indiana, USA - APR 23, 2014
Draft. Dark brown/black pour, minimal head, not much lacing. Really nice nose, plenty of smoky bacon, brown sugar sweetness, some minty almost wintergreen hop notes. Quite sweet, fair bitter balance. Medium-light body, softer carb, somewhat oily, with a lingering smoky finish. The bourbon influence is present, but very mild, which works well with the base beer. Very tasty, good for food pairing. b3shine (8864) - Indiana, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Draft to pint. Looks good; cola with sticky beige head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells smoky and malty. Tastes like it smells with a hint of bourbon. Average on the palate. A cool take on the style.
