COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Style India Pale Ale. We used an American base malt with the addition of Caramalt to give this now classic style a redish hue. Mound Builder includes an aggressive use of Columbus hops, which is a high alpha hop with a full flavor profile, and Centennial hops. The beer is also dry-hopped with Amarillo hops, which is a citrusy hop with notes of orange and grapefruit. People’s Mound Builder IPA is a hoppy, yet smooth American twist on the English IPA

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bitter flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Good brew.

On draught at Heorot in Muncie, IN. The beer is a hazy dark amber color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes steadily. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma that has piney and malty notes. Medium body with a somewhat astringent hops character that has resiny and piney qualities. Some sweet malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness left behind. Decent IPA overall.

On tap. Off white head and amber color. A-grain with indescribable hops. (the nitro pour nose has a slight resin to it). T-hop bite-slight pine or resin, light/medium malt.

A bit darker in color than I expected with a mostly white head. Very hoppy up front, guava, mango, citrus peel, grassy notes on the finish.

12 oz. bottle from jmborggren. Pours a clear amber with a small off white head. The aroma is sweet and sticky citrus, dank hops and lightly toasted malts. The flavor is toasted caramel malt, citrus, earthy hops with a dry grassy finish. Decent bitterness toward the finish. This has good balance and would make a decent session beer.

Can. Lovely deep red-orange hue with a light golden head. Lightly toasty malts and piney hops, with a nod toward malty dominance without being overly sweet. Assertively bitter finish. Very good.

12 oz. bottle shared by DrSilverworm - thanks, Chris! Pours a clear amber with a smaller off-white head that lasts as a decent-sized ring. Lots of malt in this one - caramel, toast, biscuit - along with some piney, resinous hops. Faint spice, some sugars. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, resinous mouthfeel. Not my favorite style of IPA - the English brand - but it’s good and balanced.

12oz bottle, from Big Red in Indianapolis, I believe. Shared with phaleslu. Mostly clear red color. Thin off-white head, leaves decent bits of lace. Good toasty, vanilla malt flavor, kind of biscuity. Some pine, light spiciness, resiny hop. Nice bigger bitterness. Light sweet. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Pretty tasty, well-balanced, satisfying IPA. Enjoyed it more than I expected to.

Draft. Pours orange with a white head. Light sweet malty base, some herbal and lightly citric bitterness, and a relatively balanced finish. Decent.
