COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Brown Ale.
"That’s Mr. Brown too you!” We used a lot of base malt and four different dark malts in this beer resulting in a complex malt character and a warming alcohol flavor. This is a great cold weather beer, warming and smooth to take away the chill. We balanced it with Kent Goldings hops.

Draft fest sample. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate sweet nutty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a smooth sweet finish that lasted. This beer would go well with a good cigar.

355ml bottle. This is a good imperial brown ale, has a bit of boost when drank room temp (which was my case when trying this the other day). Good chocolate and roast notes, good body, almost stoutlike.

Bottle. Lactic chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color with small head. Sweet chocolate coffee malt and lightly bitter herbal hops flavor. Full body. Very nice - a great brown ale.

355mL thanks to tastybeer! Clear deep red cola pour, larger beige soda like foam. Good retention and really nice lacing. Nose is cocoa powder, lemonade, fresh raspberries, bright and fresh but odd for style. Taste is pretty straightforward, dusty, lemonade, earth, flashes of metallic penny. Palate is clean, effervescent, light body. Interesting.

Taster on tap at Black Acre. On nitro. Clear dark brown color, with a good thin half-finger of creamy nitro head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium-plus body, smooth lighter carbonation. Lightly slick finish. Interesting nutty malt profile. Kind of hazelnutty, light caramel malt, lightly toasty. Moderate sweet taste. Solid nitro brown ale.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a fairly transparent brown with off-white lacing. Smells solid; sweet and malty with notes of toffee and light hops. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, chocolate, toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a note of brown sugar. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Reasonably pleasant nose if a bit simple and mild. Too syrupy sweet in the mouth to drink very much. Overall average.

12 oz. can courtesy of queenholly. I was really surprised by the color, couldn’t believe it was brown!! No head. Toffee and chocolate with underlying nutty nose. Similar flavors as the nose; caramel, nuts and some chocolate. The flavor is bold for a brown ale. If there is a “Imperial” brown ale this is close. Carbonation is real low yet the texture is lightly creamy. Pretty damn good.

Pours deep brown, ruby highlights and a thick, tan head. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Taste is creamy, bitter, chocolate malt. Nutty and roasty. Good stuff.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque dark brown colored body. The aroma was hoppy and brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The creamy flavor contained notes of brown malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very small sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark brown colored body. The mild aroma was brown malt. The smooth mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a mellow chocolate aftertaste. The creamy flavor contained notes of vanilla roasted malt burnt malt coffee and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
