Rated on 10-26-2014 (Bottle) The appearance is a very small tan head, hazy black brown body fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is roasted malt and citrus hops. The flavor is lightly bitter, citrus hops and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is very quaffable and is worth trying. thedm (6283) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 26, 2014
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy with a frothy top light brown colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque except at the edges dark brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium malty aftertaste. The semi-thick flavor contained notes of roasted malt mild hops and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again. cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2014
On tap, pours black with an off white head and lacing in the glass, the aroma was of fresh hops and citrus with a little bit of chocolate and roast as well, the flavor has a hoppy front end with some tropical fruit and citrus with a finish of roast, nicely balanced. b3shine (9027) - Indiana, USA - NOV 6, 2013
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent dark brown with thin off-white lacing. Smells of dark malt and roast with a fairly bitter hop profile. Tastes like it smells with a touch of chocolate too. Solid on the palate. A decent Black IPA.

Another fucking hilarious label from People’s. Pours dark brown/black with a fair khaki head that settles to a ring and leaves lots of spotty lace. Nose involves a nice clean hop profile, pine and some tropical fruit, along with dark chocolate and a lightly roasted character. Fairly sweet, a wee bit tart, and quite bitter. Lighter side of medium bodied, oily, softer carb, with a nice drying roasted hop finish. Nice and enjoyable, not over the top but not lacking either. jmarsh123 (163) - Indiana, USA - OCT 2, 2013
A - Black with a red/copper hue. Tan head that was pretty thick and stuck around.
S - Lots of roasted barley
T - Not nearly as hoppy as expected. Had a very balanced flavor with a subtle hop bitterness and good coffee/malt flavor.
M - Very thick and creamy (probably more so because of the nitro).
D - Not nearly as harsh as most Black IPA’s I’ve had and bonus points for the name. I hope to try this on CO2 so I can take it home in my growler next time.

Bottle, eaten with home made authentic sishuan so take it for wht its work. Black pour, struggles to form head. Smell is malty, cocoa nad fruity hops. Flavor has a medium biterness with pith-like citrus flavors and a normal brown ale type base. Works with sishuan. shrubber85 (11508) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle. Vanilla caramel malt and pine/grapefruit peel aroma. Dark chestnut with large tan head. Sweet chocolate caramel malt and moderately bitter pine/orange peel flavor. Very nicely blended. Very tasty. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - APR 28, 2013
Bottle. Roasty coffee, light chocolate, and fresh minty hops aroma. Black brown with a large thick creamy tan head. Earthy roasty malt with subdued minty grapefruit peel hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice malt forward black IPA.
