Black pour with a creamy tan head. Aroma roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, prunes and strong coffee. Flavor is roasty and bitter/sweet, with notes of all of the aromas coming through. A very good brew! deyholla (11604) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 10, 2011
Can’t remember who sent this one to me, but thanks! Poured a deep hazy brown with a brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a smoke note as well as sweet chocolate, toffee and roasted malts. Flavor was a combination of sweet chocolate, roasted malt, peat and a bit of smoke. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 3, 2011
Peoples pint porter. 12oz bottle from Derek... Dark stouty cola pour,
reddish edges, and a very thin head... Smoke and ash, chocolate and
licorice... Flavors are bourbonay, salty with smoke and the average
stout qualities. A bit bitter in the finish for my taste. Body is fair but a tad

thanks deyholla! bottle. pours black with no head. aroma has smoke grass pine. flavors of grass,
smoke caramel, earth vanilla odd a little off, somethings i like others i
dont. Aggressive bitterness is off putting. not bad but things arent messing well here. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JAN 1, 2011
12 oz bottle shared by Derek. Thanks! Pours a darker brownish hue, a bit lighter on the edges, small tannish head laces small. Aromas are touches smokey, green piney hops, roasted malts, raw coffee. A lot going on. Initial is smokey, firewood and touches of ash, light jerky feel moves into floral and piney hops, medium bodied with some sweet biscuits, toffee, some cocoa. The smokiness builds with moderate floral and piney hops. Dry and sweet finis:, lingering coffee and a touch of jerky. Tasty and interesting, balanced and flavorful. I like the bitterness and meaty smokey qualities, but understand the qualms some others had.

Bottle pours deep brown/black with a khaki head. Aroma shows notes of milk chocolate, moderate roast, and a touch of smoke. Flavor shows the same with coffee and dark fruit(raisins). Overall body is full with a nice roasted bitterness. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - NOV 22, 2010
A: The pour is a very dark brown, essentially black, with very little in terms of visible carbonation or head formation.
S: Roasted malts start things off as a fairly rich chocolate note follows behind. There’s a hint of soy sauce as well as some plastic notes.
T: Very heavy on both the roasted and chocolate flavors; pretty much what you would expect from the nose. There’s a subtle smokiness to the flavor which is nice and (luckily) none of the plastic.
M: The body is medium, not quite as full as I like for an RIS, with a low, smooth carbonation.
D: Not sure why the nose was so off, but the favor was decent enough. I still don’t think I need another bottle of this. dnstone (3418) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - NOV 21, 2010
Super chocolatey aroma. Pours deep brown-black with no carbonation initially, then a thin tan head rises from the bottom. Thick and sweet, very chocolatey with coffee notes. Really an excellent imperial stout.

2009 top o the line bottle (#369) from cakanator. Pours quite black with a foamy creme coffee head. Aroma is a nose stopper of coffee and really smooth burn malt - with a touch of milk chocolate. Med+ body with really smooth carbonation. Flavor is strong. Burnt smooth malt/something lightly coffee sour/maybe a hint of milk chocolate, and -don’t take this poorly- old fashioned linoleum paste. Grabs the rear of the mouth. With time it makes me think of ginger cookies. Reasonably complex. Drinks very well. Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 21, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2010 12oz bottle ’09 Vintage #954 (Courtesy of mowz)-Pours a dark black with no head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and burnt malt. Taste of the same with some molasses and toffee finishes bitter. This medium bodied brew is not bad but was expecting more. This is fairly light for an Impy but still tasty.
