COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with healthy doses of chocolate and black patent malts, this delightful beer is as black as the cold night sky but its robust flavor and smooth finish will warm you to the core. Try it with hard cider for a Snakebite.

Toasted oatmeal and toasted malt in the aroma, hint of coffee; mostly black in color, good khaki colored lasting head; lots of toasted maltiness and roasted malt, good chocolate nuances, horns of creamed coffee in the finish; medium body, smooth; good oat Stout, different than expected, I like this beer quite a bit.

APPEARANCE- pure black, as it should be. NOSE- malty and slightly chocolaty smell. FLAVOR- solid oatmeal stout. Fairly thin and light body. Roasty flavors.

GIJOE (1250) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - MAY 31, 2015
Pours dark brown to black with a tan head that lingers. Nose is roasted barley and oats with notes of chocolate. Taste is bitter like dark chocolate and coffee on a molasses rich malt background. Full bodied brew despite the low ABV. A sessionable and tasty stout.

Included as part of a sampler at the restaurant. I found most of the beers here to be very well done. And the food was great too. Can’t go wrong with anything at this place.

Draft at brewpub. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Slight roasted malt note on the tongue. I’m not getting much lactose and since it’s not on nitro the silkiness is less pronounced. On the other hand the roasted qualities come out loud and clear. Finishes clean. Not brewed strictly to style but solid nonetheless.

hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2013
22oz bottle. Black in color with brown edges and a larger sized off white head. Older bottle, so if I have the chance, I will revisit. Slight infection with a tart finish. Not a drain pour tartness, and a little enjoyable, but would like to try this fresh (someone send me a bottle).

gilvanblight (826) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2013
Very dark pour, foamy tan head. Weak earthy scent. Very rich and sweet for a stout. watery. Earthy and rich. Very sweet. Sweeter than expected. Seems a touch boozy, What %? Only 5.1 odd. Seemed stronger than that. This is alight, a good gift as I’ve never tried it but I wouldn’t go out of my way to grab another.

Schroppfy (2360) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Totally natural, delicious sweet stout with just a hint of acridness to balance the sweetness. Creamy body, so quaffable.

AirForceHops (7675) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Paid $9.99 for a growler @ Table and Vine. Used a standard pint glass. Deep brown around the edges and black in the center of the liquid. Slow dissipating head that was tan in color. Pleasant nose of deep roasted barley, oats and slight chocolate. Taste is roasted, bitter chocolate, slight coffee and touches of molasses. The oats give the body medium – full, almost chewy body. Real solid and with a lower ABV easy to drink in larger amounts.

On cask at the brewpub. Nice, crisp heart fall soul-warming roast aroma. The cask lightness really made this one drinkable, while satisfying the craving for dark, dark, dark beer. Balanced.
