I had this one over dinner one night and liked it. This beer poured a dark brown with a nice foamy head. Lots of roasted flavour. Smooth and very tasty. Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 17, 2005
Mild and fresh use of Roast and nuts. Alcohol under 5%, a brown something between an American or British. Roast in aroma. Lace in dark brown appearance. Coffee mid-sip. Not overally hopped, but balance, and a moderate complexity. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 11, 2003
Nice ruby-brown colour with a tan head. Aroma of nuts and coffee with a hint of chocolate. Robust body, and a toasty flavour of chocolate and coffee. Very porterish, and very good. Oakes (19370) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 6, 2003
Clear molasses colour. Aroma shows toffee, earthy, slight soy sauce (not enough to bother me, thankfully), and chocolate marzipan. Body is quite sweet, but with a pronounced toffee development, light caramel, and finishes slightly tart. That finish gives it that Jacksonesque "moreish" quality to what is otherwise a nursing beer. While straightforward, this also possesses significant depth of character. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2008
At the brewpub. Dark brown, still head. Nice roasty aroma. Good malty, roasty taste. Easily the most flavourful beer I had there, a great brown ale and one I would session frequently if local.

Malty/hop aroma, auburn with a slim toffee head. Roasted malt, chocolate, toast and coffee flavours. Well balanced, smooth. A really good Brown Ale! barncatmatt (2355) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 22, 2009
many pints on tap at the brewpub. very dark brown with a light tan head. choclate malt aroma. the flavour is mostly malt but the hops creep into the finish. this drinks more like a mild ale then a brown. good stuff, id have it anytime. jercraigs (11071) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 26, 2004
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2005 Re-Rate New sample seems less roasty, and more well balanced. Lots of pleasant malt. Basically the same flavours as last time but I enjoyed it a lot more. 7/3/6/3/15
Original Rating Slightly reddish-brown body with a mocha beige head. Flavour is nicely malty but the notes of roasty mocha with some coffee like bitterness were distracting for me personally because they are not flavours I am fond of. (A coffee drinker I am definitely not.) Pleasant mouthfeel. 7/3/6/3/13 Radek Kliber (7501) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAR 3, 2005
Clear, light brown, dense small head. Light roasted aroma mix with sweeter malts. Clean, mature ale. Lasing flavors, decent finish. Technically best of Pepperwood.
