courtesy of fiulijn - hazy amber beer with a little persistent foam; solid aroma of smoked bacon and ashtray; quite thin-bodied, low carbonation, earthy and smokey finish - could definitely benefit of some more malt backbone fiulijn (21214) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 29, 2013

It pours a beautiful amber color, cloudy, with copper-red reflex, and generous creamy head. Very nice aroma of smoked malt, persistent but elegant, with notes of campfire. The mouthfeel is smooth; flavor of roasted malt, some caramel, and an interesting subdued biscuity note; overall very dry; strong bitterness, with a bit too much grass and yeast in the final.
Very good and fresh sample; compared to the Aecht Schlenkerla benchmark, this one is drier, the smoked malt is well present but less fat, no schinken, and more bitter.
