Cloudy gold pour, white head. Sage is present but subdued perfectly, the pears play well with the yeast and sage...hints of sweet and tart. Incredibly well constructed IMO. Enjoyable. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - DEC 14, 2013
12/14/2013. 750 ml. bottle. Amber color with a white head. Funky aromas with yeast, dough, spices. A little sour with yeasty flavors, caramel, citrus, light fruit, spices. Medium carbonation. Not my favorite, but interesting. phaleslu (10239) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2013
750 ml bottle from Parker’s Table. Pours a dull pear juice color with a big white head. Aroma of pears, sugar, dough, sage, florals, ginger, citrus, funk, and cream. Flavor of pears, sourdough, sage, ginger, straw, and grass. Light-bodied, with a dry, funky, floral mouthfeel and light-moderate carbonation. Does not at all seem like a 9.3% big Belgian. Really unusual beer. Ratman197 (14822) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - DEC 8, 2013
On tap at Hops and Pie poured a cloudy gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of straw, pear, citrus and a hint of sage. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry lightly tart finish. Flavors of straw, pear, light citrus, light barnyard funk and a hint of sage with a crisp dry lightly tart lingering pear finish. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Draft. Golden pour with white head. Light pear and spice aroma. Flavor is full with pear and fruit and some light yeast and spice tones.

750ml bottle shared by phaleslu. Totally cloudy murky khaki brown color. Thin khaki head. Loose bits of lace. Gingery, piney, citrusy, limey flavor. Sort of tart taste, and pear fruit. Smooth, soft carbonation, more dry finish. Very soft, dry. Stronger carbonation. OK belgian ale for me. Best thing for it for me is how well it hides the 9.3% alcohol. Nice pear aroma in the finish, though. b3shine (8864) - Indiana, USA - DEC 5, 2013
750 ml bottle to snifter (shared by phaleslu). Looks solid; a cloudy light beige orange with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of Belgian yeast, pears, and sage. Solid on the palate. An interesting beer. ryanfolty (2545) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - DEC 4, 2013
December 4, 2013 - on tap at brewery. Cloudy yellow pour with some head that faded quickly. Aroma and spice of fruit, yeast and spice. Maybe some floral notes in the finish as well. Light body and some carbonation. csaso (2283) - Missouri, USA - DEC 3, 2013
Tap - fair size foamy head, very hazy medium straw color, fruity and mild spice aroma and flavor, can kind of pick out the safe, works well though , pretty good overall

It poured a golden color with an off-white head. The aroma was of grapefruit and some yeastiness. It had a medium body with an herbal character. The taste was of fruity yeasts and malts with a finish that was fruity with a white sage aftertaste. Nicely done..
