Huge silky black pour, thick tan head. Dark chocolate, with what feels like a responsible addition of gingerbread. Super tasty, great palate, alcohol well-hidden. Draft at Gilly's in Rockville, MD. Darwenus (1160) - Virginia, USA - DEC 11, 2017
Some of the stouts brewed with chili peppers can be a little one-note. This one plays the pepper card really hard, but that isn't all it has to offer. The pepper is huge on the nose and all over the front of the tongue, but on the finish I get the cocoa and cinnamon, something like honey and graham crackers, really rich malt, a little bit of heat. After I sit the glass down and think about it, all I get is the cocoa. The aftertaste is a rich and strong mouth-coating of chocolate that is just gorgeous. Most of these exorbitantly expensive prestige beers aren't worth the money. But I'm not willing to write this one off casually. I wouldn't pay this much for a bottle of beer very often, but I'm glad I got this one. Goodgrief (2062) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - DEC 9, 2017
On tap at Pinocchio’s. Aroma and flavor was a shit-ton of cinnamon. Like a cinnamon cinnamon bomb. I don’t even get Chile’s. It’s chocolate cinnamon. BackusWackus (43) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 7, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2017 Had this glorious dream grace my mouth a year ago and now have sought it out at The Owl Farm to have again. I wish everything tasted like this. It’s like a Christmas cookie and a stout had a baby named Cinnamon... but it grew up to be a delicious beer and not a stripper. scarletfire65 (1515) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 5, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 5, 2017 Draft at Kasey's Tavern. Jet black pour. The aroma is cinnamon and toasty malt. Full bodied, carbonation on the high end for the ABV and complexity. Flavor is cinnamon, bitter chocolate, nicely integrated chili.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2017 2017 bottle, many thanks Robert! Pitch black color with beige head, like motor oil - also pours extremely viscously. Aroma is intense cinnamon sticks, chocolate, a bit coffee. Taste is intense cinnamon sticks, chocolate, slowly building up chili body. Velvety and extremely viscous mouthfeel with medium carbonation and a nice amount of chili catch. Amazing, so much cinnamon in here! bpreo (2990) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - NOV 25, 2017
The one I sampled was the 2016 version, so maybe next year I'll get to try the 2017. balloonbuffoon (667) - - NOV 14, 2017
Draft of the 2015 edition served in a snifter glass. It's near black with little head, and gives off a sugary boozy scent. Very much a heavy hitter textually. Flavors of muted chocolate and cinnamon wrap themselves around the dark maltiness. I prefer Perennial's Sump to this brew as I found this to be underwhelming. 19Michi38 (219) - Cracow, POLAND - OCT 31, 2017
Czarne, nieprzejrzyste.
