Wow! Pours black with tan head. Aromas of strong coffee and flavors to follow with some roast. I haven’t found a better coffee ba beer! Give me more! HeadyDE (899) - Delaware, USA - JUN 4, 2014
draft at resurrection for CCB/Perennial event..the highlight of the event for me..black as night pour with a creamy ecru head with medium carbonated bubbles resting atop..nose is oh so enjoyable and easily one that will be remembered for a while..aroma is singing quality coffee..real vanilla..not some cheap artificial crap..bourbon goodness is on the sidelines...almost a buttery toffee taste profile here..really enjoyable stuff here and a very memorable coffee laden imperial stout..reminiscent of bourbon county coffee stout with a little less alcohol legs in play and a creamier mouthfeel. excellent stuff and makes one want more of these limited supply perennial offerings in these parts well east of the Mississippi...very worth seeking out and up there with the better barrel aged imperial stouts... dnstone (4085) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - FEB 13, 2018
Pours a solid black with excellent tan head. Burnt coffee and chocolate in aroma and taste...a bit like a "cool" hot chocolate.

Rating I forgot to enter from pre-hunahpus tasting. Wow what a freaking brew! Dark black pour, brown head. Awesome coffee, awesome bourbon, oak, rich brownie batter. All I can say is that I need to drink this again(and again) jmagnus87 (3302) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - DEC 17, 2014

Fantastic French roast aroma great stout imperial characteristics in mouthfeel and coffe taste. Rich big foamy head. Excellent flavor. Some alcohol heat that added to the whole experience. Love it. jc1762 (1695) - JAPAN - JUN 5, 2017
Tap into a wineglass showing pitch black and a finger of latte colored foam.
The nose shows strong notes of coffee, dark chocolate brightened by the vanilla to a milk chocolate, and a light whiskey background.
The palate is foamy, thick bodied and oily slick. Milk chocolate forward with a moderate rye spiciness and notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Followed by a light bitterness showing more dark chocolate and a moderate alcoholic warmth. Perfect mouth feel, well balanced flavors and nose. 750ml bottle, bottled 2/2013, shared by phaleslu. This bottle has the THICKEST wax I have ever seen. It was about a 1/4 inch thick. I’ve got a tool on my key chain that usually makes quick work of wax, but this was bottle was a bitch, had to chip at it with an ice pick. Totally unnecessary amount of wax, but I guess that’s part of the fun. The beer itself was well worth the effort.... Dark brown color, thin light brown head. Good splotches of lace. Awesome big bitter coffee aroma. Like turkish / arabic coffee. Bigger bitter taste, very light sweet. Some light vanilla in the flavor. Big chewy thick body. Lighter carbonation. Just a very light warmth. Very, very good stuff. Love the long bitter, roasty aftertaste, and the huge assault of coffee. My kind of beer.
