Sampled at the Midwest Belgian Beer Fest 2012 - Pour hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma has lots of watermelon, then more watermelon and possibly a hint of a lighter beer underneath. Very authentic watermelon going on here as well. Medium smooth body with mild carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of watermelon, Belgian yeast, malt smooth out the melon and light natural sweetness. The finish is more single-like. An excellent refreshing summer time beer.

At Belgian festival held at Perennial. Unassuming golden pour. Faintly cloudy. Aroma with light sweet malt and lots of watermelon. Very pure and clean watermelon notes. Flavor is lightly fruity and sweet up front but finishes with a huge bubblegum-like watermelon punch. Also notes of watermelon rind in this which is somewhat grassy and herbal. I liked that portion. Also seemes very faintly gritty like fresh watermelon. Interesting.

Sampled at the Midwest Belgian Beer Fest. Sweet melon, malty aromas. Very cool watermelon flavor. It tasted like I was drinking watermelon juice in my beer. I don’t know if I would want to drink more than one of these beers, but it was a really cool beer!

Draft sample at MWBBF. Pours a hazy, pale peach color with a small white ring for a head. The aroma is completely fresh watermelon- not watermelon candy-like extract, but like sticking your nose in a freshly cut, juicy slice of watermelon. Same with the flavor. I’ve rarely experienced a fruit so completely and accurately replicated in a beer. The only downside is that you don’t get much else; maybe some pale malts, and a little bit of a grass/straw/earth note. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a juicy mouthfeel. Fresh and summery. Fun to drink.
