Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours a clear red with a white pinkish head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has a combination of tart blueberry and raspberry with a light yeast note and a hint of acid. Flavor is full of sour blueberry and raspberry with some underlying acid and a bit of a funk note.
Sampled at FOBAB ’12. Earthy fruit aroma with some raspberries and blueberries. Some of the oak comes though. Tart juicy flavors. Thin tart fruits that seem to be mostly raspberries. Dry tart finish. Rather acidic but drinkable. 8/4/8/4/16

Draft at Fobab 10. Sweet. Pours a deep purpley red with a thin head. Nose is robust with tons of fruit. Blueberry notes dominate but the raspberries kick in to round it out. Firm spicy oak and vanilla persists. Really nice balance with the acidity that is also there in the nose. On tasting, subtly sweet and cleanly soured. medium bodied. The blueberry picks up strong and the raspberries lend some tannin to balance this out. Spicy oak plays its role as well. Stunning. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2012
Sampled at FoBAB 10 - 2012 (Chicago, IL). Pours a richer ruby hue, gentle haze with a small pink head that stays as a layer, laces ok. Aromas are richer blueberry skins, raspberry, oak. Rich fruit berry pulp, tart blueberry pie, raspberry, a bit sharp and lactic. Middle is sharp and sour, richer berry, a touch of vinegar, red wine. Backend is lingering sharpness, lactic, big sour berry. Finish is solid lingering, if not sharp and pie fruit elements. Nice. It’s a simple equation here but the flavors are strong and tasty, the balance is in my favor with a good slant towards sour and fruit. Firm barrel. Sampled at the STL Hops 5th anniversary party. Pours murky purple with a pinkish head. The aroma has raspberries way up front, tartness and hints of vinegar. Medium / light crisp body with a light amount of semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor begins tart with a citric slant, tart raspberries, wine barrel, blueberries. On tap: The aroma consists of sour lime, blueberry, kiwi, and a touch of vinous notes. It’s a purplish-amber with a small purple tinted head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of blueberry before quickly being overtaken by sour lime, kiwi, and faint wine flavors. It’s light bodied with mild carbonation.

FoBAB 2012: Blueish purple with a minimal head. Strange persimmons, blueberry, raspberry, oat and wheat nose. Some pale pils and lactic acid vapours along with a dash of red wine oak barrel tannins. The taste is more like Watermelon Jolly Ranger than Blueberry, Raspberry or Red Grapes. Then add a nice level of acidity and slight funk rounded by some oats and wheat husks and you have a shocking excellent brew! This really drinks like a Berliner Weisse with a high level of refreshment and lively character. The surprise hit of the day not just for myself but many others as well. YUMMY! (How this did not medal is beyond belief)
