3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very hazy yellow golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus and some tropical fruit. Taste is orange and pineapple with a light malt backbone, some floral character and light bitterness. Soft and full mouthfeel with light/moderate carbonation. I’m not sold on the look of these super hazy IPAs, they look flat and boring, but I did enjoy the lower bitterness and clean, rounded flavors.
Sampled on draft at 2017 Lupulin Carnival in Union Station. It poured a cloudy yellow colour with sudsy white foam, lasting with lace. Basic pale ale grainbill dominated by dank, pungent, musky, fruity American hops. Light body, chalky/minerally mouthfeel presumably from so much suspended yeast, lingering bittersweet aftertaste. Enjoyable, but I’d have difficulty distinguishing it from other New England IPAs I’ve tasted. obxdude10 (2395) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2017
On draft at the Railroad in Linfield. The Cave Torch poured a very hazy light gold color with an ample white head. The head left some really nice, sticky lacing around the glass. The flavors were on the sweet and fruity side with some bitter hops. The body seemed a bit sour, too. NikkTwist (3464) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2017 Draft at Bru Craft. Cloudy yellow gold pour with some white foam. Reconstituted dried lemons. Mandarins. Limes. Wet straw. Some unwanted acetic notes in the nose. Juicy but finishes mostly dry. Easy drinking enough but not as exceptional as other Perennial IPAs. luttonm (7086) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 21, 2017
Chuck’s CD, Seattle. Small foam, light hazy lemon juice body. Orange peel aroma, which with the appearance, makes me think of radlers. Fair bitterness, dark citrus juice matches well with green hops. Crisp and relatively dry. Good warm weather beer, but it’s lacking something for my palate. A little heavy. coachd (1002) - Missouri, USA - MAY 21, 2017
Great tropical aroma. Looks and tastes underwhelming, palate is above average. I expected better.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a hazy yellow with a small lasting white head. Aromas of bread, lemon zest, grapefruit and light orange zest. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of bread, yeast, earthiness and light citrus with a smooth dry moderately bitter finish. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAY 20, 2017
Draft at sb. Pours a murky bright amber with a dense and fizzy white head. Big tangy orange nose, lots of citric acid, leaning to grapefruit. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel and dry oranges on the palate, nice dry finish. drpimento (3875) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 13, 2017
Aroma’s fresh hops, wet grain. Flavor’s like nose, more bitter than sweet, some citrus. Ok body and finish.

16 ounce can from phaleslu. Thanks! Canned last month some time. The beer is a hazy yellow with a white head of foam. Great head retention. The aroma has honey, orange rind. Sweet. The mandarin orange character is captured well, but I feel like it has to fight the hop character a bit much to be in the forefront. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Draught from front porch. Orange yellow pour. Pretty fruity with orange and virus up front.
