Pours black with brown head. Smell is subdued, but filled with chocolate and cream. Taste is creamy, chocolate with balanced amount of sweetness. Lactose comes through, but the coconut is only is the backround. I kinda wished to taste the coconut more, but this is great just the way it is. Very smooth texture, like heavy cream. After taste is not too sweet and delivers a clean chocolate liquor finish. I like it. beernbourbon (1600) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - JUL 28, 2012
On tap at brewpub. Pour is relatively viscous black with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malt, faint vanilla, faint coconut, notes of chocolate, and a little malted milk. Flavor is very cohesive with smooth roasted malt, light vanilla, well-intergrated coconut, and a touch of very subtle tartness. This is so much more cohesive that the test batch, which was also pretty darn good. Excellent. seymour (2120) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - JUL 18, 2012
Shared by jckp64 at the Royale gathering last night, thanks John! Poured from 750 bottle into a snifter, it appeared opaque dark brown with thin moussy tan head, somewhat lasting with a little lace. Aromas and flavors of toasty malt sweetness, milk chocolate, and coconut. In other words, a Mounds bar. Medium body and carbonation, smooth and creamy, mildly tart and roasty aftertaste. Pretty unique and tasty. phaleslu (10652) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 18, 2012
750 ml bottle shared by jckp64- thanks again, John! Pours and opaque chocolate brown with a minimal tan ring for a head. Aroma of milk chocolate, coconut, fudge, nuts, and molasses. Flavor of chocolate, milk sugar, coconut, toast, and coffee with cream. Medium-full bodied, with modest carbonation and a smooth, rich mouthfeel- I like the way it slide, slide, slippity slides down the palate. Delicious.
