Fantastic Voyage is a harmonic melange of coconut and Imperial Milk Stout brought to us by brewer Jim Leabig. Loads of coconut, lactose and black malt balance each other to provide flavors reminiscent of chocolate covered coconut with a finish smooth like silk sheets. Best enjoyed while listening to slow jams by candlelight.

Deep black in color with light tannish head... Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits, hint of sweetness... Flavor is intensely sweet, but also tart, like it's infected... Coconut is not prevalent, almost undrinkable... Haven't had a drain pour in a while, very disapponted... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Capones, Black Friday bash, Norristown PA 29/11/13. Pitch black with a good sized tan covering that clears to a swirl then settles down for the show. Nose is light roast, liqourice, dark toffee, burnt brown sugars, sweet notes. Taste comprises light roast, chocoalte, coconut shavings but pretty subtle, dark toffee fudge, a fairly sweet number. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, sweet sugar infused closure. Decent enough impy, thankfully not infected, a little sweet and cloying towards the end, alcohol a touch hot at times.

Dommage.

750ml bottle pours a dark black with a large tan head. Roasted malt aroma. No coconut taste or aroma. Just tastes like a chocolate sweet stout

finally a beer as a tribute to coolio. come along and ride on the........ pours oil black, large tan head that reduces quickly into the abyss. some visible carbonation streaks. nose is bursting with black malt, pitted fruits, coconut. taste is gently sweet with all the elements already listed with light milk chocolate. coconut is pronounced on the finish. body is light for style. slide, slide, slippity, slide.

Black pour, light cream head. Nose is sweet, faintly tart, wood, and a hint of chocolate. Easy palate, tart, faint coconut, sweet and chocolate.

22 ounce bottle poured a black color with aromas of sweet chocolate milk, and some light coconut. Flavors were milk chocolate, and coconut, light on the palate, nice mouthfeel, easy drinker with the abv listed. This is dangerously delicious.

Draft at Pony Bar. Looks like I’m not the only one to stumble on an infected batch of this stuff. Near black with a beige head. Light roasted malts, some odd tart fruitiness, balsamic, and faint dirty tartness in the finish. Not good.

Infected. Nose is roasted chocolate, sour berry and composted earth. The palate follows and isn’t horrible.. in fact the flavor is more pleasant than a lot of sour blacks on the market but the beer is ringing as a tart fruity shadow of the big chocolate version it once was. The coconut and chocolate presence is there and gives a glimpse at just how good this beer could have been if not for the introduction of some pedio infection.

A serviceable milk stout, initially with lactose sour edge, balanced by the coconut. Though I am not the biggest fan of coconut, despite recent health claims, this works. So thick milk chocolate. Tough to finish even for two.
