COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fantastic Voyage is a harmonic melange of coconut and Imperial Milk Stout brought to us by brewer Jim Leabig. Loads of coconut, lactose and black malt balance each other to provide flavors reminiscent of chocolate covered coconut with a finish smooth like silk sheets. Best enjoyed while listening to slow jams by candlelight.

Bottle shared by GatorGuy92. Cheers, Matt! Pours a porter/ stout brown with a tan head. Nose is roast, coffee, earth, and lactose with hints of coconut. Flavor follows with roast, coffee, earth, and lactose, coconut dialed back a little bit. Light to medium in body and lingering coffee and lactose on the finish.

On tap at federal taphouse. Opaque black pour, light moka head. Aroma is sweet, light salty soy like notes, dark chocolate, hint of coconut. Taste of lactose, really sweet, a bit repulsive really the chocolate lactose soy mix does not go well together at all, surprising. Good carbonation. Not bad, but not my thing, I’m having trouble digging stuff from this brewery.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2013 750ml bomber. Rather thin black pour with mocha head. Small rim of retention. Nose is roasty and not much else is going on. Taste is really not enjoyable. Sour, metallic, and roasted coffee. Coconut is almost non existent. This is not very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2015 Bottle shared thanks to thebsmitty! Pours a thick black with bubbly brown head that doesn?t really lace. Aroma is brought booze, a hint of chocolate and sweetness as it warms. Taste is less intense on the booze, nice hop profile still, coconut comes through. Smooth and creamy, slightly bubbly. Solid, but the booze is a bit too present. This has turned sour a couple years later.

Bottle (bottled 4.2013)
Aroma: Chocolate, smoke, slight fruit tartness
Appearance: Oily black with short lasting dirty brown head
Taste: Muted milk chocolate with some sour/tart notes
Palate: Very little carbonation, smooth, coating mouthfeel
Overall: There is definitely some tart notes... not unpleasant at all, but certainly unexpected. No real coconut, and the chocolate is cut by the tartness. I expect this is not typical, but interesting nonetheless.

Poured from the bottle. Color is black with almost no head. Aroma is mostly chocolate, with just a hint of coconut. The coconut gets lost in the lactose and chocolate. Would have liked more of it. Still a nice milk stout on its own.

Big lactose on the nose. Some roast character as well. A sweetness, and a coconut flavor is present as well. Good, but not quite great.

On tap at the Blue Dog, Lansdale. Poured a black color, with brown edges and a small sized tan head. Yep coconut that came out more as this one warmed up. Toasted coconut. Chocolate and roasty too. I’m not a huge coconut fan, but if you are, then try this.
