COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fantastic Voyage is a harmonic melange of coconut and Imperial Milk Stout brought to us by brewer Jim Leabig. Loads of coconut, lactose and black malt balance each other to provide flavors reminiscent of chocolate covered coconut with a finish smooth like silk sheets. Best enjoyed while listening to slow jams by candlelight.

Superb stout. Very chocolately and rich. Thick mouthfeel, creamy and dark. Not much in the way of apparent hops, a pure stout through and through.

Pour is black with light beige head. Palate is sticky as shit. Aromas and taste are banana bread, booze, plum, cherries, sugary sweetness, chocolate, light coconut if any. Not what I expected at all. Had some barleywine characteristics to it.

Tap at beer kitchen in Kansas City. Inky deep red pour, wispy mocha lace. Nose is a bit muted, dusty cocoa, baked cherry, hints of cinnamon. No robust though. Taste is thick, piling on dense chocolate chip banana bread. Dairy heaviness. Coconut absent. Moderate chai tea spice finish with cream. As it warms, more chai tea and zucchini bread with less banana dunkelweizen character. If someone really wanted to grill this beer, they might say it tastes like tootsie rolls and licorice blended into a grape milkshake. Fiancé loved it. GT2: 3.6 and Biggirlpanties: 4.3

Black with big, frothy, tan head, no lacing / Dry, toasty nose of roast barley, grass, caramel / Light to medium body, hint of sweetness but mostly dry, good malts and body with lightly bitter finish / Flavors of roast grain, molasses, prune, caramel, dark roast coffee, licorice, coconut, cream / A remarkably good, light stout.

O - A beautiful high quality ale, just would have liked a little more coconut.

Hershey syrup pour with a small mocha head. Rich fudge, brownie batter, and milk-dipped Oreo’s.. Caramel, toffee, split vanilla bean and brown sugar present as well. Missing the toasted coconut that would add incredible complexity. Even without it, enjoyable!

Taster at the source... Pours a deeper than cola stouty black with deep auburn edges and topped with a thin film of khaki head... Subtle toasted coconut more roast with more of a predominant cocoa chocolate focus. A touch of yeast on the backend... Flavors more of the same. Lighter bodied while focusing on a very light toasted coconut that comes more into play as it warms followed up by a chocolate focused backing. Could use a touch more bodied but really enjoyed the coconut development after warming.

Draft on tap at Local Option (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice blackish opaque pour, darer and thicker, a creamy brownish head atop dies to a good ring, laces ok overall. Aromas are coconut shavings, creamy lactose, some vanilla, some creamy sweetness. Milk chocolate, gentle coffee, and toasty. Carmelized malts, some nice darker black malt, creamy body. Initial is fuller bodied, some toasty malts, vanilla and lactose. Coconut shavings, coconut milk, chocolate and creamy lactose, milk chocolate. Really nice smooth silky mouthfeel. Creamy yet not overly sweet, great chocolate shaving presence, toast and coco. Rich yet not thick, good silky smooth palate. Backend is a touch more toasty, carmelized, vanilla and milk chocolate linger, toasty and sweet coconut. Nice flavors, luscious, silky and smooth. Not overly sweet, good flavors with a firm coconut presence. Nice sweeter Imperial Stout. Really would like to see this hit wood for a bit but not for too long. Tasty.
