COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fantastic Voyage is a harmonic melange of coconut and Imperial Milk Stout brought to us by brewer Jim Leabig. Loads of coconut, lactose and black malt balance each other to provide flavors reminiscent of chocolate covered coconut with a finish smooth like silk sheets. Best enjoyed while listening to slow jams by candlelight.

Tap. Pours deep, dark brown with thick, creamy tan head; decent retention and good lacing. Aroma is roasted and caramel malts, coconut, earthy and floral hops, plums, and some fresh dough. Flavor is roast malts forward with supporting coconut, dark fruit esters, vanilla, and light earthy hips; dry finish. Medium/full body and low carbonation.

The aroma is coconut, brown sugar, chocolate, milk cream. The appearance is jet black, quickly vanishing tan head. The flavor is chocolate, coconut, brown sugar, milk cream, nicer than the aroma. The finish is sweet, liht pine needles, roasty. Medium/thick in body. Quite good.

Draft at Beer Run. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coconuts, nuts, chocolate and a faint chemical note. The taste is roasted malts, nuts, coconut, ash and that same faint chemical note. Medium bodied.

Sampled at DLD 2013. It poured a dark black color with a thin chocolate head. The aroma was of milk chocolate, coconut, some nuts and sweet caramel malts. The taste was of notes of light chocolate, nuts, coconut, molasses and faint coffee. Very tasty.

Draft at the Bridge. Pours black with a half inch of khaki foam that leaves lacing. Not a ton of aroma for some reason. I definitely get the lactose on the tongue and some roasted malt, but more in the finish. Didn’t get a ton of coconut. Finishes is clean. I expected this One to be bigger though it’s certainly quaffable.

On tap at tasting room. Color black with thick dark tan head. Aroma mainly roast malts. Mildly sweet taste, a solid milk stout with lactose, chocolate and mild roast. The coconut comes in later and almost seems more on the palate than in the flavor. Creamy palate. I enjoyed this quite a lot.

Bottle shared with friends. This is one of the better milk stouts I’ve recently tried. Good lactose sugar thing happening mixed with a nice subtle chocolate flavors. Pretty damn tasty.

April 17, 2013 - cask pour at Soha. Black pour with no head. Aroma and taste were chocolate, coconut, roast and lactose. Slight alcohol finish, and nice medium to full body that was smooth and creamy.

Pours very dark, unclear thick blackish with a beautiful dark cocoa head, no lacing though. The aroma brings some sweet roasted malts for sure. Flavors start with sweet roasted malts again, a blend of the roasted malts and coconut flavors quite nice. The coconut is lighter than preferred.
