Draft at Churchkey. Pretty much black, pretty brown head. Aroma of rich dark milk chocolate. Taste is vanilla, cocoa, malted milk balls. Nice. Leighton (22301) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2013
Bottle at the Pre-Zwanze tasting - London. Pours clear, ddep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has some tangy dark malts, hints of dark berries. Medium sweet flavor with some sugary chocolate, slight coconut oil, mint. The infection has definitely started to take hold but thankfully it’s still OK. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, further sugary chocolate, some tangy berries. Pity the beer isn’t as it ought to be. Theydon_Bois (20607) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2013
Tap at Capones, Black Friday bash, Norristown PA 29/11/13.
Pitch black with a good sized tan covering that clears to a swirl then settles down for the show.
Nose is light roast, liqourice, dark toffee, burnt brown sugars, sweet notes.
Taste comprises light roast, chocoalte, coconut shavings but pretty subtle, dark toffee fudge, a fairly sweet number.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, sweet sugar infused closure.
Decent enough impy, thankfully not infected, a little sweet and cloying towards the end, alcohol a touch hot at times. mcberko (18930) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 31, 2012
750mL bottle, sent from tstockstrom (thanks Chuck), pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of coconut flakes, milk, some mild sweet roast, and some sweet chocolatey notes. Flavour is extremely coconut-forward, with a milky, viscous palate; there is some mild sweetness, perhaps coming from the coconut, but no roast or malt balance for the sweetness. Medium-bodied, again with the coconut fully upfront. Solid impie. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Bottle. Pours black with tan brown head. Nose and taste of coconut milk, roast chocolate malt, vanilla beans, roast coffee and toasted almonds. Medium body. Light lactose and dry coconut finish.

Bottle @ Richard’s tasting. Black pour with a tan head. Roast, coconut, and vanilla on the nose. Kind of metallic, some olive, and a bit of tartness. Weird. Flavor starts off with some nice coconut and vanilla notes. Plenty of roast, some chocolate, and olives. Metallic finish. Kind of acidic. Bottle thanks to Bruce at the Pre-Zwanze. It pours cloudy darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, toffee, caramel, fudge, wood and chocolate. The taste is rich, roasty, chocolate, lactose, tangy berry, jam and dark fruit with a dry, fruity finish. Full body and fine, prickly carbonation. Perhaps a touch tangier than it was meant to be, but it’s tasty nonetheless. djd07 (15543) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 25, 2016
Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours black with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is roast, coconut, cardboard. Medium mouth, coconut, roast, dark chocolate, good. Ratman197 (15350) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2017
On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of milk chocolate, coconut and light roastiness. Palate was light bodied and smoith. Flavors of cocoa, coconut and a hint of roastiness with a smooth lingering cocoa, coconut finish. Tmoney99 (14952) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 7, 2012
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, coconut and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy sweet toasted black malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a oily smooth texture and flat carbonation. This beer exceeded my expectations.
