3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle picked up at the taproom. Pours an inky black with a relatively modest tan head. Nose of chocolate, with notes of both sweet milk chocolate and dark chocolate present. Nutty hints as well as some prune and light toasted coconut. More of the latter on the taste, but really married with the chocolate such that there’s never a distinct coconut flavor. Sweet, but a bit of sharp near-bitterness as well. Big beer.
Sampled at Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2017 - day 2. Dark pour with a small tan head. Notes od cocoa, coconut, roasted malts, light vanilla. Smooth texture, very drinkable. downender (9003) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2017
On at Fireworks Pizza, Leesburg, VA 3/12/2017. Jet black in colour, with a tight, beige, head. Smooth lactose character, slightly toasty malts malts, some milk chocolate and coconut notes, a hint of leafy hop before a boozy finish. Very good. 90 (922) - BELGIUM - DEC 5, 2017

Very nice aroma with whiff of coconut. Taste is very frivolous. Some coconut, light roast. Very fresh feeling. Palate is rather thin, but that is not a problem with this complex beer. Some chocolate. Some sourish tones. dinkle50 (1583) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 4, 2017
Jet black pour with a single finger espresso colored head. Aroma is full of chocolate and coconut. Medium bodied. Extremely sweet. Taste is full of chocolate and coconut, like a mounds bar. The coconut tastes great and is not perfumey. Very tasty, but too sweet for a full pour of this. Couldn't drink more than like 6oz at a time. No lace. Tap at happy gnome. 10oz pour. Cola black with small tan white head. Very dessert like. Chocolate and coconut. Taste is better up front than the finish. Rich body. Has a bit of a weird light peat flavor. Overall good. JK (6342) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - NOV 21, 2017
Black of course. Very smooth palate. Coconut and some malt sugar. Light roast and a little coffee. Rich. Good beer. badgerben (5372) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - NOV 18, 2017
Tap. Black color with a medium head. Sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor of sweet coconut, chocolate and a bit of coffee. Full bodied. Relatively sweet. tmoreau (4739) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - NOV 8, 2017
On tap at Ellyn's Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL. as a 5 oz. serving, displaying a black/brown hue, fluffy persistence to the light brownish tan layer of froth, with ribbons & spots of foamy lacing. The nose was roasted, woody & nutty, candy bar sweet, with chocolate & nougat, and toasted coconut. Medium to full bodied, with low carbonation, but a nice creaminess to the texture, the taste was like notes as the aroma, including decent alcohol presence, and roasted & earthy bitterness. Smooth and just sweet enough, in a pleasant, dessert-like manner.
