From notes. Pour at Zwanze Day 2017 at Jolly Pumpkin on September 23. The pour is a slightly hazy golden yellow with a thicker cap of off shite head and a couple spots of lace as it falls down. The aroma is pretty strange. There is a light melon, or what I’m assuming to be melon, with a hint of funk, and a strong yeastiness. There is a little oak, but this is a little messy. The flavor is much of the same. The oak and light tartness come through nicely with a strong yeastiness and a decent light funk on the back end. I don’t know about this one. The balance is nothing like the others. The mouth feel is lighter and crisp with a sharper carbonation and a lingeringly funky finish. This one just doesn’t hold up to how the others worked. 6 4 6 4 14

Thanks to Peter for sharing this back in October. Pale, clear, small ring of bubbles. Compared to Tide’s End (sampled at the same time), this has a bit of spice to it (and my notes say melon, so I should believe them, but between us I’m not sure I can imagine what melon tastes like in a beer now that I’m reading the notes). Taste is funkier, muskier -- is fruit must a thing, or am I off by a letter? I’ve heard people say grape must, so I’m sure melon must is real (I kid you not, these are seriously the stupid notes I take after a night of drinking). Delicate, but with a fun melony twist. Light body, average carb, a little lacto. Fun.

Draft at brewery. Pours yellow with little head. Leaves little lacing in the glass. Nice oak notes on the nose and tongue which give it a wine like quality. Solid fruity notes as well. Has a nice amount of sourness to it. Finished clean. Nice.

5 oz taster in a pretty wine glass at Perennial Artisan Ales in St. Louis, Missouri. The pour is a slight haze golden yellow with pretty much no head. The aroma is bright acidic, sour funk with a bright clean melon fruit to the back. The taste clean acidic sour funk balanced beautifully with the fruit of the melon. Beautiful expression of flavors, very tasty. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and the sour melon fruit funk. Exceptional execution.

Bottle. It poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma was of melon and wood. The taste was similar to the aroma with more melon, oak and funkiness. The finish was of sweet bitterness. Really tasty.
