3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Perennial. Pours a golden color with white head. Jalapeno, smoky flavors. Very drinkable pepper beer. Pepper and spiciness is there, but more subtle than other chili beers. One of the better pepper beers I’ve had.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ Perennial. R&D release originally called Hot As Helles, but apparently that name is already being used by Rock Bottom. Pours a bit hazy, golden appearance with a white head. Very potent and delicious smoked jalapeño aroma which pretty much masks anything else. Slightly sweet grainy but mostly just smoked jalapeños in the flavor. Straight up pepper beer but one of the better ones that I’ve had. No real issues with celery or veggie notes that plague so many pepper beers. One of the best pepper beers I’ve ever tried.
