COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the hop capital of Belgium, Hommel is the word for humulus, the plant genus where hops reside. Our Hommel Bier defies tradition by combining North American malts, Pacific Northwest hops, and a Belgian yeast strain. The result is a beer that combines earthy and spicy tones from the yeast with a slight orange note contributed by the hops. We think it’s buzzworthy.

2013 bomber to a snifter. Pours a hazy golden orange with big fizzy white head. Aroma is earthy with a little citrus. Taste is earthy and a little spicy with an almost plastic taste. A little hops and orange, but very faint. A bitterness comes at the end but is cleaned away by the intense carbonation. Finishes dry and clean. Watery mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours amber golden orange with a creamy big white head. Aroma brings cliche Belgian sweeter yeast with hints of orange. Flavor brings oranges and sweet yeast ending with a wonderful American hop influence, bringing a balanced bitterness.

750ml in a Trappist glass. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of spicy yeasts, citrusy hops, and some sweet, caramel and pale malts. Flavor the same with a nice balance of everything. Average texture. A good beer that blends hoppiness with Belgian yeast characteristics well.
