COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the hop capital of Belgium, Hommel is the word for humulus, the plant genus where hops reside. Our Hommel Bier defies tradition by combining North American malts, Pacific Northwest hops, and a Belgian yeast strain. The result is a beer that combines earthy and spicy tones from the yeast with a slight orange note contributed by the hops. We think it’s buzzworthy.

Capped 750 from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy dark orange gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is hop with an earthy undertone. Quite promising. Med plus body. Flavor is a little citrus sour, followed by some really earthy hops and yeast/spice notes. Though I guess the earthy is also from the yeast based on the description. If the hops aren’t earthy tho, I’m not sure what they are. Pretty good bitter! Each quaff is a pleasure to both the nose and the mouth. This is pretty good ale.

Pours hazy golden with a small white head. The aroma has earthy floral hops, light Belgian yeastiness and is fairly dry. Medium / light crisp body with mild amount of carbonation. The flavor starts dry and earthy with lots of grapefruit zest and pine. The malt is light in comparison and a bit crackery. The finish adds spice and shows the hops well. Really nice beer.

It poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma was banana with some clove, light malt and wheat. The taste was banana, lemon, orange, coriander, clove, light malt, wheat and some spice hops. Plenty of carbonation.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. I bought this one. Hazy golden with a soapy off white head. Sticky lacing. A soft fruit and a spice that might come from the yeast. Soft fruit in the flavor is apples and citrus. Bitter. Yeast notes. This is gentle, subtle, and nice.

Draft sample. Poured hazy golden color with a large frothy off-white head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet malt, yeast, earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick dry texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded with a standout change of pace brew.

Draft. Pour is clean deep golden with a medium white head. Aroma is lightly spicy and faintly hoppy with notes of clean nutty malt. Flavor is also pleasantly earthy with notes of clean malt, faint spice and a nice hoppy finish. Still early on for this brewery but this is my favorite offering so far. Very refreshing.

On draft at the brewery. Pours cloudy golden with a nice white head. Aroma piney and citrus hops, sweet malts, tropical fruits and hints of belgian yeast. Flavor is sweet malts, spicy belgian yeasts, citrus hops and orange peel. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Has a nice spicy finish.

Draft at the brewery, served in a goblet with a short stem. Pours a cloudy golden-orange color - more orange at the wider top and more gold at the narrower bottom - with a small eggshell white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, orange peel, sweet malts, piney hops, tropical fruits, and some candi sugar and subtle Belgian yeast character. Flavor of earthy hops, orange citrus, sweet malts, pineapple, and some bready, spicy Belgian yeast. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a citrusy mouthfeel with some mild bitterness. So, so nice. What a great beer to have as one of your two year-round flagship offerings.
