Shared from big bottle into plastic cups at Civil Life staff picnic in Tower Grove Park. Mostly-clear pinkish amber colour with weak off-white foam. Great funky brett flavour, crisp and grainy with some grapeskin tannins, subtle hop bitterness and subtle peppery spice, fruity, tart, complex well into the aftertaste. Super tasty and odd enough to be memorable. shrubber85 (11460) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - APR 4, 2017
Bottle. Wood, toffee malt, and dry hay aroma. Amber with small head. Mildly sweet toffee malt, moderately sour vinegar, and mildly bitter grass flavor. Good body and balance. Okay - basic. koleminer20 (3704) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 10, 2017
Enjoyed at a tasting at Brian’s house on February 08. 750 mL bottle. The pour is a darker golden orange with a thin bubbly ring of off white head and a good lace as it falls. The aroma is light. There is a light grape must in there, but the oak is very heavy. There is a touch of vinousness to it, but I think it’s all from the cab barrel. The flavor matches this pretty spot on. There is a light grape must and a heavy barrel and light vinous influence on the beer. It’s decent, but very light. I would expect a heavier influence from the grapes. The mouth feel is light and clean with a softer carbonation and a lingering vinous barrel on the back end. Not terrible, but not great by any accord. dogfish120love (1335) - Westfield, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 28, 2017
