Sampled at the Midwest Belgian Beer Fest 2012 - Pours lightly hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma has lots of ginger, pale malt and light earthiness. Medium body with mild nice semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of ginger, some spices, hops, lemon peel and light Belgian fruitiness. The finish is tart and refreshing. Very nicely done. phaleslu (10553) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2012
Draft sample at MWBBF. Pours a hazy yellow-gold with a small white head. The aroma is led by ginger but has plenty of sourness; lemon, lactic acid, pale malts, straw, and pepper. The flavor is mostly the same, a good dose of ginger, with a lot of lemon tartness, yogurt, dry grains, and straw. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a crisp, fresh, sour, tart, and spicy mouthfeel. Complex and tasty. Really well-done ginger beer that doesn’t go overboard like the ones I’ve had from Shiner or Dux de Lux.
