From notes. Enjoyed this one with the Ann Arbor crew at a tasting at Corbet’s house on November 18. 750 mL bottle. The pour is a nice orangey ruby color with a light tan colored head that falls down slowly to a film with a spot or two of lace behind. The aroma is interesting. There is a heavy caramel sweetness to it up front with a light fruitiness and a bit of earthy hops on the finish. There is a warming and growing alcohol on the back end. The flavor is much of the same. There is a brighter fruitiness about it than the nose with a heavy toffee and caramel malt and that alcohol that does burn a tick. The mouth feel is medium bodied with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly earthy hop bitterness and sweet sharp alcohol on the back end. This is a little messy for me. 6 4 6 4 14 coachd (945) - Missouri, USA - NOV 19, 2017
Bottled 9-11-17; this year's version is 13.6% ABV. Good rich aroma with chocolate and fruity notes, just a hint of booze on the nose. Beautiful dark ruby color. Tastes of caramel sweetness, slight earthy hop bite, aftertaste is also sweet with a moderate booze burn. Not overly hoppy so I'm glad I drunk this one fresh rather than aging it. Aged may be too sweet. Excellent palate - smooth, slightly coats the mouth, low carbonation, great for the style. Very well made by Perennial. I will buy this again and would love to try the barrel aged version. Art (3220) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 10, 2016

Bottle, shared with phantomhennes, TvM, and heavylaevy at game night. Lovely tawny amber, light golden head that retains well. Bready, chewy toffee malts, nice tawny port character, moderately hoppy bitter finish. A very enjoyable barley wine. mstrcrwly (1000) - New York, USA - JAN 11, 2016

aroma of toffee,raisins,plums,caramel,bread..tastes of raisins, toffee, figs and
biscuits..little thin but not bad.
Bottle. It poured a brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of caramel, toffee, dark fruits, nuts and some cocoa. The taste was similar to the aroma with more caramel, nuts, fruits and earthiness. Bottle 12/2012. Good stuff. NikkTwist (3368) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2015
Draft at Khyber Pass during their 18th Anniversary event. Deep murky copper brown pour that started with thick khaki foam. Complex vanilla toffee caramels. Treacle. Blackberry cordial. Pumpernickel. Sulfured figs. Pecan pie. Full body. Some punctuated acetic notes in the nose when cold. Flavors broaden quite nicely as it warms. Increasing notes of cigars, Turkish coffee, shoe polish and leather. Feels aged - but maybe tapped a couple years too early. luttonm (6844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 15, 2015
Draft at Toronado, Seattle. Deep, rich brown with lovely tan cream. Deep figgy aroma. Creamy, clean, huge body. Flavor rushes over and lingers, figs, balsamic, cherry note. Cloves. Espresso heat. Big, lovely beer.
