An APA from this internationally oriented Czech craft brewery, at Hopishop’s B.U.M.B. tasting event in Antwerp. Lightly lacing, snow white, dense and moussy head over a lightly hazy golden blonde beer. Aroma of dried lemon peel, lime juice, soggy white bread, raw pineapple, grapefruit, hint of unfresh stale urine (dank hoppiness), hay. Crisp, fruity onset, fairly clean, hints of passion fruit, lime and starfruit, supple and smooth, light mouthfeel with medium carbo, a bit ’thinnish’ and grainy even with a narrow bready edge, aromatic citrusy finish, drying and spicy but gentle and elegantly dosed hop bitterness, traces of bready and phenolic yeastiness as well. Not bad, conveying its intention well as a light-footed, elegant summer quencher, but a bit more maltiness would have provided more balance, I think.

At Hopishop 2016. Aroma of grassy hop and grain. Taste has some grassy hops and citrus at first, but then the herbal nettle comes in. Meh.

500 ml. bottle sampled @ HopisHop B.U.M.B. 2016. Hazy citrus golden, creamy white head. Nose is cold & metallic, water, iron, vague hop but very empty & metallic. Taste is cold empty citrus hop, there is little base, empty boring metallic with some cardboard. Bland empty & metallic body. Weak stuff. Too bad my first 2 encounters with Permon were quite positive.

Light yellow. Fairly dense head. Very smooth texture but ultimately without a lot of interesting tastes.

Wendigo (631) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUL 13, 2016
Citrus and grassy aroma. Golden, almost clear colour with thick medium white head. Hopy taste with biterness domination. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, long bitter aftertaste. Good refreshing APA.
