on tap at Neked Csak Nyolc, Budapest. Nice sweet honey malts and just the right amount of bitterness. Cool lager for after work. Quite sweet for a pils, but still distinctly Czech. Light, not too filling, great sessionable lager. Gets more and more bitter with each sip. Nice, try it out.

Old notes. Tap in Pardubice. Rather nice malt character and full body for the alcohol. Rather sweet, but so much hops to balance, but nice enough.

i tried it as Kovar Ležák 11°... the aroma is malty and herbal with shades of grain and some spices... the taste clear and refreshening, malty with smooth hoppy bitterness... dry and bitter aftertaste...

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. This was some random czech pilsner with some weird off flavor.

Pernstejn Vilem Svetly Lezak 11⁰: Look; modest off white head and clear golden body. Aroma; caramel fudge, bread, yeast, mild sweet spices from a meadow. Taste; fine blend of light hops and creamy caramel, malts, bread, straw, corny spices, leading to a malty fruity finish, just slightly sticky, lasting, some apple notes. Normal texture and soft to normal carbonation. Overall easy to enjoy, a good brew. [50cl in a dimpled Pernstejn mug @ Klub Malych Plzen CZ, [email protected]

Keg at Pivovarský Klub in Prague Day 5 of Fergus and Sarah’s Czech jaunt. 3/10/14. Clear golden coloured pour with a fleeting white frothy head. Aroma is apple, touch citrus, pils. Flavour is composed of some apple, pils grains, mass produced lager, metalic bitterness and a little sweetness. Crisp finish. Palate is light, with high carbonation, gassy, . Clean boring lager.
