The original Italian lager. Peroni is the number one lager brand in Italy and has been for over one and a half centuries. This premium, clear, golden-yellow lager, with 4.7 ABV, is the result of the dedication to brewing of generations of the most qualified braumeisters.
Brewed using the finest spring barley malts and hops, its taste is slightly bitter. A refreshing smooth lager, Peroni is suitable for all occasions.

Upon first glance it doesn't look like too much, yet it is a good tasting beer. It lacks flavor, but is a well balanced lager.

330 or 660 ml bottle from every supermarket in Italy. Colour is golden yellow with a medium white head that disappears in 30 seconds. Aroma is most malty, grain. Texture is watery. Light bitterness. I discovered that it is pretty famous also outside of Italy, but is only for marketing and not sure for the quality of the beer.

Can from Riki, thanks pal! Aroma is okay for the style and so is appearance. Still, surprisingly, its an okay euro beer.

An Easy to drink, run of the mill lager. Peroni Red has little in the way of character. Lacking a strong aroma, there are notes of classic bitter hops and barley malt. A slight sweetness in both taste and aroma is likely a characteristic of the corn grits used in the mash. An attractive light straw hue, and light head of foam is classic lager. Smooth and slightly bitter, light copper flavour. This beer is fine with salted nuts in a quiet pub with game, simple, unfashionable and definitely one of the better mass produced lagers going around.

Can from a supermarket. Sweet, typical lager, no hoppy notes at all, just sweet pale malts and corn. High carbonation, low body, sweet finish. Meh.

66 cl [email protected] in straight [email protected] 9 degrees c. Present from Sven-Ove :-). Pours clear yellow/gold with a fair white head witth OK retention. Aroma of corn, grass and a subdued citrussy hop. Flavor of standard pilsner marred by addition of corn which in my mouth gives a slight off-taste. OK balance between the hops and the malt, but leaves you with a flat, pilsner aftertaste. Add a quite watery body and moderate carbonation and the equation does not add up to a great experience.

Una birra da tutti i giorni, semplice, non stanca. Secondo me una delle migliori lager commerciali italiane.
