Very dark with an off-white head. Lightly roasted malts with plenty of sweet chocolate to round that out. A hint of dry coffee grounds, too. Finish has plenty of sweetness and a little bitterness from the coffee notes. Thin bodied. An enjoyable and very accessible porter. patrick767 (4474) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 21, 2017
can - Pours dark brown with a tan head. It smells of roast malt and coffee. The flavor is similar. I found it on the light side for a porter. What's there is decent but I'd like it to pack a little more oomph flavor-wise. AWISLguy (3497) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 18, 2017
12oz bottle from singles rack at Antioch Fine Wine. Bakers chocolate. Some roast. Some brown sugar. Quite dry. Fairly short. Light fruit. Finishes well mixed between bitter and sweet. But thin. 13.3 chinchill (5451) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 4, 2017
12 oz can with a 2017 date stamp.
Pours with a black body topped with a very good tan head. Fine lacing.
Better aroma than flavor, although the flavor is about average quality and typical for style.
Lively carbonation in a medium+ body. eRock_2013 (530) - South Carolina, USA - OCT 17, 2017
Recently enjoyed this fine brew courtesy of the Michigan side of the family at a wedding of a good friend this past weekend, its nice to try a new beer from Michigan that's not from Bell's or Founder's. From a fresh can, this poured an impressively solid brown-black color with plentiful foam, "dark as night" indeed. Aroma is chocolate malt with some spicy licorice accents, at first I thought this was more of a German-style shwarzbier. The flavor followed as a surprisingly light and roasted malty spectrum of chocolate and coffee bean flavors, definitely falls in the porter category, although it has a crispness of a lager, quite interesting. To me this was more medium-bodied in its texture than other reviews have indicated, but either way its smooth and delicious and definitely a beer to seek out!

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2017 From a can into pint glass. Black, off white head. Nose is black patent malt, dark chocolate, rye bread. Light body, medium carbonation, slightly sweet, a bit dry on the finish. Easy to drink with some flavor. higgsbison (275) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2017
A highly unusual beer. Has burnt malt, chocolate and coffee notes of a porter but is like a light beer. Not sure what I think of it

Twelve ounce can from mixed six pack bought at Delhi Kroger. Almost opaque brown hue, coffee/chocolate/licorice nose with a little distracting chemical smell, smooth but flavorful taste that's much like the aroma would indicate. Decent brew that's good to serve to people who think all dark beers are "too heavy". crossovert (14233) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 8, 2017
355ml can. Dark brown pour, tan head. Aroma is brewpubby hay and cocoa, some herbs. Flavor is chocolate and hay, very watery for a porter. akoeninger (777) - Wisconsin, USA - JUL 30, 2017
On tap at snug harbor. Dark ale but light body. Some roasty and floral notes. A slighter beer than usual for the style but it makes it more suitable for summer
