4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is a lot of chocolate with a bourbon backing...A wonderful vanilla and chocolate with a lot of bourbon... beautiful!
The aroma is vanilla and a little chocolate. Pours an amber brown, very dark with virtually no head and minimal lacing. The taste is sweet. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. Very Nice! jtclockwork (17374) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 8, 2017
Bottle - pours dark brown tan head - nose and taste of malt ball, bourbon, chocolate - medium body SG111 (2055) - New York, USA - NOV 2, 2017
Bottled. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is cinnamon, bourbon, toffee, whiskey kinda spice going on, vanilla. Flavor is vanilla, cinnamon, bourbon, same sort of spice to it. Fairly thin, but flavor is solid. Enjoyable. koleminer20 (4091) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 27, 2017
From notes. Enjoyed at Doug’s house on October 05. 22 oz bottle. The pour is a thinner dark brown color with a thin ring of light tan head and a couple spots of lace as it falls on to a film. The aroma is pretty good, but really, really sweet. There is a light chocolate and a pretty decent powdered milk ball that somes through. There is a light vanilla, and some sweet chocolate notes. There is a pretty good booziness about it. The flavor is similar. It’s pretty light, delicate, and boozy. The sweetness of the milk balls really comes through on this. The chocolate is light and almost offers a little bit of a syrup character. The mouth feel is thin and watery with a sharp chocolate and alcohol finish. This one just doesn’t do it for me, but I’m glad I got to try it. 6 4 6 3 13 flatmatt (1621) - Northville, Michigan, USA - OCT 1, 2017
22 oz bottle. Pours very deep brown with an off-white head. Sweet cocoa syrup and molasses aroma. Flavor is sweet cocoa, molasses, with vanilla and some bourbon tones. Quite nice, but also quite sweet (as is to be expected)!

22 ounce bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, toffee, cream, fudge, marshmallow, coconut, bourbon, and toasted oak; with light notes of molasses, smoke, char, coffee, mint, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of dark/roast malts, lactose, vanilla, cocoa, and bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, toffee, cream, fudge, marshmallow, coconut, bourbon, and toasted oak; with light notes of molasses, smoke, char, coffee, mint, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal hop/roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, toffee, cream, fudge, marshmallow, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, light molasses/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast malts, lactose, vanilla, cocoa, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a nice roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Slightly drying from roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Mild carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/velvety, and slightly chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mildly increasing warmth, with minimal booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an awesome barrel aged imperial porter. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast malts, lactose, vanilla, cocoa, and bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. For 9 months in the barrel it's not huge on bourbon, but definitely adequate. Never overly sweet or heavy, but definitely rich on flavors as expected for a dessert style beer. A really enjoyable offering. bpar73 (1186) - Bellaire, Michigan, USA - SEP 23, 2017
On tap at the Cadillac Beer Fest. dark brown pour with a tan head, Taste and aroma of bourbon, vanilla and chocolate, wsnich (31) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 28, 2015
This beer absolutely blew me away. First, and only, beer I’ve had from Perrin and perfectly captured an alcoholic malted milk shake. I hope I am able to come across this beer another time! Cosmo6644 (102) - Illinois, USA - MAY 8, 2015
Cacao nibs and vanilla on the nose, taste is like malted milk balls took a bath in bourbon, doesn't get much better

Tap at The Oak. Black pour with a very small head that fades to a very thin ring. Great aroma of vanilla, chocolate milk, maple, and light bourbon. Tastes solid but the bourbon and vanilla overpower the chocolate and maple. Big oaky finish that’s a little boozy. Noticeable alcohol when it warms up. A tad thin too. Pretty solid overall though.
