This beer absolutely blew me away. First, and only, beer Iíve had from Perrin and perfectly captured an alcoholic malted milk shake. I hope I am able to come across this beer another time!

Cacao nibs and vanilla on the nose, taste is like malted milk balls took a bath in bourbon, doesn't get much better ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at The Oak. Black pour with a very small head that fades to a very thin ring. Great aroma of vanilla, chocolate milk, maple, and light bourbon. Tastes solid but the bourbon and vanilla overpower the chocolate and maple. Big oaky finish thatís a little boozy. Noticeable alcohol when it warms up. A tad thin too. Pretty solid overall though.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy chocolate, light molasses, vanilla, bourbon, faint maple, and a touch of mint. Itís a dark brown with some faint orange highlights. It has a small beige head that quickly fades to a minimal film and then barely a ring. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate, molasses, and barely a hint of roast. The finish has light-moderate caramel, vanilla, a touch of mint, oak, and maybe some maple syrup. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel.

On tap at brewpub pours a dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate, with a nice oak bourbon backing. Velvety texture, smooth milk and dark chocolate, malt, vanilla, not overpowering complementing bourbon oak presence. Nice!

Pours clear deep dark color with evident ruby highlights. Some head clings to the glass. Nose is chocolates, toasty malts, coffee, char, burnt, sweet caramels, boozey bourbon, oak. Flavor is vanilla, sweet bourbons, caramel, oak, boozey. Warming character. Pretty damn tasty. A little on the boozey side and could have a little more body. Seemed thin. For the style.

Tap @ Perrin: Silky, oiled up black body with a beige & gray colored foam that stretches towards the collared edges. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, tannin, malted chocolate (almost Ovaltine-like), & some syrupy sweetness in the background... I want to say maple syrup, but itís not quite "maple-y" enough. Perhaps sweetness from the malted milk? Taste is full of mild malted chocolate notes; relatively sweet but balanced with a whiskey warmth over a background of vanilla, burnt & crystallized sugars, & mildly astringent oak tannins. Whiskey & chocolate candy bar aftertaste, perhaps with a mild hint of mallow. Very nice brew.

Tap. Black with minimal head. Mild bourbon and lots of chocolate. Smooth and delicious. Complex flavors.

Aroma is bourbon, malt, chocolate, roasty. Appearance is black, light brown head. Taste is bourbon, marshmallow, malted milk ball, straight up, roasted malt. Mouthfeel is thinner than I like, sticky, good carbonation. Overall, this beer would be even better if it was thicker, but thatís my only complaint.
