Bought this after being convinced from a friend a year ago and it’s taken this long to run into it. The 2 SNPA’s I had yesterday were a big disappointment and I expect a step up in the enjoyment category. Mellow fruity aroma consisting of tropical stuff, lemon, caramel, peach... I wonder how this would be if there was a version with rye? Drinking this pretty warm at this point. It’s a thirst quenching, juicy brew on every single sip and even after sitting a long time it still holds up - and that is impressive to me. Seems that I’ve somehow latched on to the subtle qualities which is not something that usually appeals to me. Tropics, peach, light spice background, < spruce, caramel. Came across mellow, stayed mellow, stayed interested. Pretty fucking solid.

Bottle, sampled at Medicine Hat Beerfest 2016, and again at game night. Clear copper body, average off white head. Light caramel with tannic tea-like hop character. I reserved judgement after initially trying this at the fest, but twice in a row I am unimpressed. Perhaps the initial ratings for the dry hopped version are skewing the average, as it had to have been better than this. Thin and average at best.

Thanks to Matt for this one!

Aroma is peach, apricot, citrus zest and some nice cereals.. Good carb and mouth feel. Finish is fruity, and zesty, nice drinking, hoppy finish. A nice over all pale ale.

Aroma is citrus, clove, honey and sweet malts. Taste is light sweet malts, honey and tart. Some citrus, earthiness, grapefruit and slight sour notes. Appearance is a slightly hazy gold with a thin pearl head that retains quite well.

Gawd bless Gibson’s. In fact I haven’t been there for some years and perhaps am surmprised that a brewery exists there but nonetheless it’s a prime spot ’long the Canadian pacific coast. This’un’s got fine antique white head and golden body, little carbonation. The aroma is all hops, not too strong, but not complex. Flavour is plenty of hops again and a dry finish. You know a friend of mine asked me why there was such this obsession with hops in the 21st century - after all, there was no real need for them, as hops helped preserve beer on long ocean voyages and we had many decades ago managed to figure out water purification; nonetheless it’s become more of a taste thang, these excessive hops, tho this isn’t too excessive as it seems. Nonetheless it’s fascinating that what we once drank out of necessity, we now drink out of luxury. Excuse me while I finish this and pour a Gin & Tonic....

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops with light piney notes is quite nice. Taste is a mix of citrusy hops with some piney notes floral undertones and subtle light caramel notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Solid interpretation of the style.

650 ml bottle from Canada Craft club. Aroma: grapefruits, strong caramel from the malt. App: hazy orange, brownish, medium off white frothy head almost beige, thick bog lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, creamy, really subtle fruits, subtle bitter finish. Overall: American Pale Ale? Ah! Way too malted for an apa if you ask me. Not enough fruity. No dates on the bottle so could be old. Weird appearance for an apa On the other hand, good texture.
