Second best beer of a four beer tasting palette. This one had a slight edge of smokiness and chocolate, light body. Below average. GIJOE (1249) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - APR 22, 2014
Pours almost black with a cappuccino head that hangs in for a while. Some lacing. Nose is chocolate and coffee. Taste is quite sweet with chocolate dominating. Hint of chocolate-covered booze cherries. Full body. Soft carbonation. Decent brew, albeit a bit one-sided for me.

Appearance: very dark brown, off-white head, slight lacing
Flavor: baker’s chocolate, dark coffee, slight smokiness
Palate: smooth, nice dark roasted coffee aftertaste that fills the mouth
Deep brown, almost black. Coffee bean nose, some chocolate, medium bodied, semi-sweet chocolate everywhere, with a tart bakers chocolate note at times. Turns to a sweet burst of wine and cherries, with a coffee undertone. Some alcohol shows through, sweet, strong chocolate covered cherries in the long finish. Very nice.
