Black coloured beer with limited carbonation and a short off-white head. Coffee hinted roasted and malty aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is light bitter roasted, malty with a sharper bitter ending. Medium stout. marcus (10680) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 1, 2009
On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a decent tan head, and a light chocolate and coffee aroma. There is a bit of chocolate along with a roasted malt flavor with a chalky dry finish. JMFG (1587) - Florida, USA - SEP 26, 2009
Pours a deep dark near black color with a thin tan head. Nice aroma, light on the roast, but has a nice light piney hop presence. The taste follows suit, with the hop character overshadowing the roast component. Kind of like a dark pale ale. BMan1113VR (7929) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 2, 2008
On tap, Pours with a logn lasting, large, light brown head that leaves good lacing, covering an ultra dark brown body. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, chocolate, oak and a bit of burboun. Taste is smooth and malty (burnt and toasted). Creamy mouthfeel, some alcohol and light bubbles. DenverLogan (1264) - North Bend, Washington, USA - FEB 20, 2008
On tap at brewery. Near black; big amber head. Dark roasted malt aroma and flavor - quite stout and bitter with some sour notes but overall so-so...I"m thinking infected lines or something. Wouldn’t finish a pint.

Dark black beer with thin brown head. Heavy on coffee aromas and flavors. A very tastey beer, will look for again. lilannie (384) - Adamstown, Maryland, USA - JUL 19, 2004
Aroma: smoke, roasted coffee beans, cream
3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 15, 2004
Appearance: dark brown, off-white head, lacing
Flavor: smoke, cream, roasted malts, roasted dark coffee beans
Palate: slightly watery, very smooth, almost too carbonated, roasted coffee aftertaste
Dark brown, burgundy light at the edges... roasted chocolate malts and coffee in the nose, medium thick texture, but very robust, typical coffee and light hops in a stout, but still tasty. vwsteggie (684) - Paxton, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 9, 2003
Has a very dark brown color and a roasted malt smell. Taste was of the roasted malts and finishes with a good bitterness. Overall the best beer they make, but not a smooth enough stout for me...
