UPDATED: MAY 10, 2005 Surprisingly not bad, considering my distaste for Pete’s products. Dark brown in color and translucent. Not overly hoppy, which is a very good thing. Little bit of spice and bite to it. Somewhat bitter too with a slight wheat taste to it. If you like Pete’s, you should love this. Volgon (2761) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 28, 2002
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2003 Amber color, with a thin off-white head. Caramel plastic smell, ends a bit sweet. Fairly disappointing, as is most beers from this brewery. UnionMade (621) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 22, 2002
Not a bad octoberfest. Nothing to unbutton your pants over, but it's surprising for Pete's. I don't really care for their beers, although they're not bad. Just nothing special. This one's pleasantly malty, full bodied, and very drinkable. Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2002
Pretty weak aroma with some malt, and a little metal. Low hop aroma. Small off-white head, nice caramel amber color. Medium-high carb and medium watery body. Bit sour/tangy hops, not too sweet which belies the aroma. Tastes like maltier version of Wicked Ale. Clean finish. Not really that good for the style. dankfor20 (196) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 5, 2002

The color and mouthfullness are right. The chocolate notes, fruity esters, and utter lack of delicateness seem to say they're more interested in cashing in on the name than they are in brewing a true Oktoberfestbier. kyzr (1596) - Montana, USA - NOV 16, 2002
Nice amber color with light head. I found a hint of banana/vanilla, which was weird. Odd finish with an off hops presence. jayme9874 (756) - Hamburg, New York, USA - NOV 12, 2002
Clear, amber/copper. Thin head and lace. Aroma of rich malts and spicy hallertau's. Smooth, nice carb bite, medium bodied, malt is heavenly luscious with hints chocolate, hop presence could be better but a very respectable version. Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - NOV 5, 2002
