Amber orange color with a moderate light tan head. Old hops and malt aroma. Alot of sweetness (brown sugar and toffee) some what balanced by the hops but a bit too much of each for a really good octoberfest. Also has a bitter alcohol finish that really distracts. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 28, 2002
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2003 Good Oktoberfest beer. I have also had Penn and Saranac Oktoberfests and it ranks in the middle. Good flavor and not too much bite. Rib Eye (148) - USA - OCT 23, 2002
Too bitter by far for the style, but not bad. I much prefer the Sam Adams Octfest. Holdwine (1232) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 19, 2002
Looks better than it tastes. Not bad for an Pete’s. Decent malt tones, but nothing much else.Maybe a little too sweet. Racegoer (354) - Indiana, Indiana, USA - OCT 18, 2002
Moderate copper color, slightly sweet, a little malty, average brew here, worth a try for a seasonal beer.
nothing more, nothing less.

Nice sweet malty flavor but a little thin. Tom Servo (424) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - OCT 16, 2002
Not bad, but the aroma is kinda funky. Has a sweet flavor to it, with a smallish head and a lot of carbonation. Not bad, but not a favorite of mine. HighlanderOne (1330) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - OCT 14, 2002
Boy, the smell of this stuff nearly put me off. It’s like a hop/fried brussel sprout aroma, almost a skunky smell. Once I got over that I was impressed. It poured to a nice dark amber with a velvety head. The taste is hoppier than most Oktoberfests, which I enjoyed. It felt great and finished nicely. I think I’ll buy more. austinpowers (2828) - San Francisco, California, USA - OCT 10, 2002
In an 11-Marzen tasteoff, I’m starting to get tired of drinking this style, but I can still say that this is hoppier than the Victory Festbier and is not quite as bad as everyone seems to be saying. I would drink this again, though it wouldn’t be high on my list. grymy (105) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - OCT 9, 2002
Its a party in a bottle!, pete is a genius
