Got this as part of a sampler pack. I am glad I didn't get 6ers of all of these because for the most part they have been barely above average (I do like the original). This was no exception. Copper colored (not very red at all actually) with a thin head. Mild malty nose. Somewhat bland flavor but easy to drink and mildly sweet throughout. So-so. A couple of 'CO2's' are buried in the text jumbled logo while the commercial description boasts of 'heightened effervescence'. This may be an overduplicated style but some brewers make it well (N.Coast, Roague, Full Sail). This however is just another one of those run of the mill micros aimed at newbies. A little sugary, almost candy-like sweetness is pretty much as complex as things get. Heightened effervescence? Thankfully not. Good stuff, but despite color, flavor is too similar (and not quite as good) as Pete's Wicked. interesting color tho - changes depending on how you view the glass. GPyott (67) - Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 3, 2002
A mild fruity Amber that is comparable with Killian's, however, it is much smoother. Not the best, but nothing to complain about. Suttree (6484) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 3, 2002
My, what an inoffensive beer..............................................

what's up pete, the wicked ale is nice, maybe you should keep it at that.... Hugerat (452) - somerville, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 18, 2002
Very weak, kind of a metallic flavor. The guy should really focus on brewing just a couple of good beers. DEbeer (192) - West Virginia, USA - MAY 15, 2002
It isn't too bad. Kind of like Killian's, but the alcohol is more apparent in the taste. I would probably drink it again if given to me. K-V-F-L (292) - LaVista, Nebraska, USA - APR 11, 2002
Thought Pete's might come out with a novel interpretation of this by now overdone style. Alas, it is pedestrian and uninspiring, with none of the quirkiness usually typifying Pete's products. And it has such a cool atomically themed label, too! I was just hoping for more. greystreet80 (191) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 3, 2002
Not too bad, a pretty weak red. Not as good as Leine's Red. A little too sweet.
