A red beer with a fine but very fast disappearing head. The aroma is malty with notes of flowers and sweetness. The flavor is prickling, sweet with a flowery note and ending in a nice but not dominating bitterness turning a little dry after awhile. A fine beer - but not as great as I remembered it.

Got this as part of a sampler pack. I am glad I didn’t get 6ers of all of these because for the most part they have been barely above average (I do like the original). This was no exception. Copper colored (not very red at all actually) with a thin head. Mild malty nose. Somewhat bland flavor but easy to drink and mildly sweet throughout. So-so.

Pours reddish colored. Tastes watery. Some malt and hop flavor, but not enough.

Oh man this stuff was bad. You call it red, but it’s so damn empty. Horrible malt syrup flavore, light and grainy... not recommended at all.

Ernest (7694) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 17, 2003
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread), lightly hoppy (flowers, grapefruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Poor aftertaste and metallic feel, somewhat weak and boring aroma beg the exclamation "next!"

It's obvious Pete's Wicked Red Rush IS an ordinary ale. Orange/reddish hue with a small head and no lace. The aroma is that roasted malt, mild bitter hops, hint of grapefruit, and earthy yeast. The taste was largely malty sweet with a touch of bitterness. Soft and lively mouthfeel led to a dry and flat finish. Detected a papery feel to this beer. Rather bland, standard lager, take a pass and try something better.

Old Undated Notes: A nice amber color beer that is earthy and grassy and sweet. One of their better beers.

Aurelius (5335) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 9, 2003
Buiscuity malt aroma, with an odd vegetable thing going on in the background. Dry, brownbready flavor, a little brown sugar/molasses taste without the sweetness, mild hopping on the backend. An odd mouthfeel, like I had a mouthful of blanket or something. Palate was mostly dry, but a little creamy. Burger beer.
