Aged? Many beers have a long maturation, but this one has only 24-36 months in oak barrels. Pale? This beer has an old gold to bronze color, rather than the burgundy more common in the breweries of West Flanders. This is the mother beer, used in various quantities to blend with the other Petrus beers, and to give them their unique and very distinctive taste. This mother beer is rather sour with a bite like the best Brut Champagnes. A connoisseurs delight! The only one of its kind on the U.S. market.

A very sour pale with overly sour notes. Pours light pale with a frothy head. Again, very sour overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft. Hazy yellow color with a decent white head. Nice sour acidic taste. Not much complexity. Good sour though.

bottle. Ours a transparent golden color with a thin, lasting head. Aroma is soured yeast and sweet malts. Notes of oak, bread, wine, and lemmon grass come out. The palate is crisp. It tastes sour, finishing dry. This is not for me, but good for the style it is.

Not too shabby, but nothing over the top. I advise that you try it, but dont go out of your way for it.

Cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma is sour, fruits, and barn. Highly sour/tart, slight sweetness at first that fades into bitterness, and then tartness to finish. Bit thicker body. Some funky barnyard lambic stuff happening.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2016 75cl bottle, aged 15 years. Almost clear light golden colour, foamy white head. Rich nose and taste with green and ripe apples, white grapes, citrus, vinegar, earthy, funky, medium sweet malty base; very fruity, clean and dry. Low-medium carbonation.

330ml - Apple bite on nose, green apple and lambic sourness on palate. Appearance isnt much but the flavor is great, and isnt that what were here for?

(bottle). Pours a light golden color with quickly diminishing head. Flavors of sour strawberry, grape, and oak. Very clean finish. A delicious and very refreshing beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is real interesting. The least-jarring sour beer I have ever had. Aroma of tart wheat. Takes the very easy lemon flavor and pulls it into a green grape finish -- very nice.
