COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

Ładna, rubinowa barwa. Piwo klarowne. Piana dość gęsta, rżowawa, zostawia małe firanki. Aromat zdominowany przez wiśnie. Do tego delikatne nuty ciemniejszych słodw. Lekko kwaśny. Dość duże nagazowanie, musujące - przyjemne. W smaku wiśnia i nuty słodowe - czekolada i troszkę jasnych słodw. Generalnie kwaśne, ale jest też troszkę słodyczy. Goryczka niska. Alkohol wyczuwalny bardzo delikatnie. Podsumowanie: Smaczne, dobrze ułożone i dość ciekawe piwo. Powiedziałbym, że eleganckie.

Het is een lekker zoet zuur bier. Het is donker rood van kleur, met een mooi schuim.

750 mL caged bottle. Poured murky, deep mahogany with thin head. Black cherry juice, dark fruit with plums and raisins. Tart finish.

Smells like cherries and booze. Taste is incredibly sweet, cherries again, no sourness to speak of. This is the least sour ostensible sour ale Ive ever had. A decent fruit beer I guess, but not at all what the style is supposed to be.

Hazy reddish brown color with beige head. Aroma is really fruity, like cherry preserves or natural cherry juice. Taste starts sweet with cherry flavor but also caramelized sugar, even a bit burnt. Slightly boozy, finishes with a bit of burnt sugar bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth mouthfeel. Really well balanced between tart and sweet. ABV is also integrated well for its 8.5%.

As promised a mixture of sweet, composed both of malty toffeeness and cherries and sour, with an acidic and wooden tone on top. Overall just a little too sweet and fruity but definitely seen and tasted worse.

750mL bottle drunk 12/10/16.
Clear amber-magenta body is topped by a beige/pink-tinged head, initially large and receding slowly to cover.
Cherry acids sit lightly atop moderate caramel and some slight saccharine-like sweetness. Moderate Belgian esters and definite acetic character with a hint of the wonderful aged pale. A little bit of metal and more caramel lingering.
Sweet and sticky in the mouth, the acids helping to mitigate some of this and a slightly medicinal, somewhat peppery finish with a moderate tartness. There are certainly some good things going on here, mostly due to the aged pale portion, Id imagine plus there does seem to be some authentic cherry character, despite there also being lots of saccharine/powdered sugar and light fruit syrup. So a bit of a mixed bag, and kind of sweet, despite some sourness to mitigate it. Its obviously meant to appeal to a wider, non-beer geek audience, which is fine.
