Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

330 ml bottle. Bought in a Jumbo in Santiago. Dark amber color with creamy high foam. Berries smell with wheat and pepper, over the top sugar for me. Can taste the oak, and the berries give some winish taste, its pretty good and different of what i was expecting. Usually i feel that oaked beer its too acid, but the sugar here gets the balance well. Its way better than regular Petrus. Sadly its way to sweet, but its an excelent beer.

Cask @Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Pours brown with a red tinge, thin off white head and lacing. Nose is big cherry, slight vinegar and sour notes. Big sweet cherry on the tongue at first which leads onto a oak finish. Some toffee and caramel going on as well. Tasted like vimto with a vodka in it.

0.33 l bottle. Pours very deep red/brown color with long lasting off white head. Strong sour cherry and some bready notes in aroma. It has a multidimensional taste, starting with sour and tart cherry, then some brown ale notes: toffee and bread, warm alcohol and at the and, cherry again. Short sour finish, medium body, well hidden ABV. Interesting, pleasant beer.

Draft sample at Tilburg Bierfestival 2016 Tilburg, The Netherlands. 26.06.2016. Pour it dark red color with small white head. Aroma sweet cherry feel. Taste sticky, candy sugar cherrie feel, too much sweet at the end as well. Ah!

Bottle to tumbler Consummation: Cloying caramel and port which transitions to sour cherry Adjunct: Dark brownish red with a creamy 2 cm head; aroma is cherry candy with earthy notes; the first taste was way too sweet, but it grew on me and I was able to finish the bottle. This was not for me, but a good effort.
