Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

So my wife said: it tastes like sangria. Yes it does. I agree. Cherry forward, light bodied, champagne-like bubbles but short-lived fun. I believe better examples of his style exsist. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Piwo zdominowane przez aromat wi?niowy. Pachnie i smakuje bardzo sztucznie. Co? jak sztuczny sok albo guma wi?niowa. Gdzie? bardzo daleko lekkie nuty chlebowe i alkohol.

From a bomber in a snifter. Very nice cherry beer. A little bit of the aged wood flavor comes through and a fair amount of cherry. Not as good as Wisconsin Red, which it is similar to. A little more Oaken.

Bottle. Deep red brown, fizzy and sustaining pinky brown head and good condition. Sweet cherry nose with a slight tartness and hints of nutty almond, almost cherry bakewell like, with some earthy-woody . Sweet in the mouth with a more muted cherry fruitiness and understated dry tartness that fails to balance out the sweetness. Finish has a slight dry cherry stone note and a slight sweetness lingering with a touch of woody oxidation.

The foam is pink, persistent and quite beautiful. The aroma is ripe cherry surrounded by an exciting delicate scent of hardroasted malt that is probably derived from Brown Ale's influence. I also feel marcipan, cherry and a mixed candy bag with the main emphasis on jellies in the aroma. The flavor has a light chocolate flavor with light strokes of hardroasted malt, but otherwise it is the cherry that dominates the most. It is a very tasty fruit beer with easy carbonation that keeps on the taste of ripe cherries for a long time. Its fusion with a brown ale makes it look like a classic Kriek too much but instead maintains its very own identity and ends up being a fruit beer that differs significantly from the amount of Belgian fruit beers and becomes a very distinctive fruit beer with particularly good balance between malt and fruit seeds and the acidity of cherries. In the aftertaste I feel a little walnut.

From Alcampo. In Teku glass. Playing Verde Station. Lots of cherries here, in nose & mouth, not much dubbel character. Good body. Fine but seems more a refreshment than a beer. Abv well hidden

Bottle. Medium pink brown head that immediately dissipates. Red mahogany body. Mascharino cherries, oak, lactic acid, Ribena, some weird artificial flavours. Sour with some artificial sweetener. Dry finish.

From Boyle to snifter. Pour is a cloudy ruby red. Nose is dark fruit, light hop, resin. Taste is light-medium bodied, sour. Finishes tart and watery on the mouth.
