COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

Bottle. 8.5%. Best before 09.05.19. Pours a clear, deep ruby red, with a pinkish/beige head. Great lacing. Sourish aroma in a kind of soft way. Notes of fruit, marzipan, and a candy-ish, sugary overtone, the latter increasing as it warms, almost disassembling the sourish note. Cherry note and a remote hint of cereals/cooked vegetables as well. Flavour is sweet, sugary. Notes of cherry, fruit, berries, candy. Remote perfumy hint. Light caramel malt and a metallic hint as it warms. Dryish finish with a mild alcohol burn and lingering light bitter and tart, vinous notes. Smooth palate. Overall pretty good. Very candy-like, but in a well-balanced, not overly cloying way; I like it! 15.11.17.

Brownish red with a big brown head; aroma is artificial cherry, cherry juice, slightly tart, sweet malty; taste is very sweet, cherry, malty, caramel, slightly spicy finish, cloying sweetness; texture is sticky and sugary with medium to high carbonation and a heavy body; close to undrinkable because it's so heavy and sugary, lacks any kind of elegance

Thanks Hrabren! Red-brown tinged with amber, tan head. Candyish cherry aroma, quite pleasant, and a surprise after the Aged Pale. Marzipan and cherry juicy notes build on a solid malt base, maybe some light tartness too. A tasty fruit beer all in all.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2017 0.33 l bottle I got from my family. Thanks! Shared with everyone. Deep ruby to brown, small off-white head. Cherry juice. Not much else. Sweet, juicy, cake or candy. Too sweet. Medium body, sticky, some alcohol, lasting finish, tart.

A gamble, mix a dubbel bruin (my personal favorite style) with a kriek. Result is goid but far from outstanding.

Intense aroma of sweet black cherries. Clear brown with a long lasting brown head. Intense taste of sour sweet black berries & a dry finish. Full bodied, sticky texture & soft carbonation.

Dark brown reddish colour, medium beige head. Aroma of cherry, other dark fruits, caramel, oak. Sweet lightly sour taste with mild fruity bitterness in finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Nice fruity beer.

Hodně dobré pivo s tóny red sour/brownu, zde je ale přidáno více cukru, a ve finále to také odpovídá nasládlejší chuti, s tóny červeného vína. Jemná pěna i říz podtrhuje slušnou kvalitu tohoto piva.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2017 A red flanders type beer with an artificial cheery syrup dominant presence.
