Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

Bottle into tumbler, deep reddish hued brown color with foamy tan head. Aroma of candy cherries, liquorice and some red wine. Taste adds notes of caramel, tart sweet cherries, slight nuttiness and tannic oak. Light body, moderate carbonation, sour, sweet, dry with malty tart finish. Nice fruity sour, somewhat on the candy sweet side.

From a 33cl bottle, pours deep dark red brown body with a cream tan color head. Aroma are beautiful, fresh cherries, plums, very fruity. Flavors is also very fruity, mostly cherries, hints of vanilla, almonds. Quite sweet...a bit too sweet, but still quite pleasant.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of cherries, must and burnt sugar. Pours clear dark ruby brown color with thick creamy tan-like head, fair lacing and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet caramel malt, follows by sweet and sour cherries, bread, wood and tanins, mouthfeel is warm and mild spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and lively carbonation in palate. Sweet and strong fruity beer, although ABV is well hidden...

Benters (144) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2018
Pours a clear dark red with good level of head retention. Big fruity aromas of cherries, some almonds and some sweet malt and alcohols. Taste is a mix of sweet and sour, cherries contributing to both of these elements and the underlying base beer providing adding complexity. Really interesting beer, slightly warming but hides its strength pretty well.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2018 Draft from backlog notes (2013). Pours a clear reddish amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet and lightly tart cherries, pale malts, some vinegar notes, light caramel, not very sour for a sour red/brown.

Cork and caged 0.75 litre bottle into Leffe chalices (three of us) on 8th Jan 2018 at my daughters in California, bottle obtained from Old Town Liquor, Temecula. Misty red body, pink, beige head that turned into a wisp and collar soon after pouring. Liked the blend, not too sweet, not too sour and not to cherry flavoured. Really enjoyed this.

Helt sikkert drikbar ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Kolor: Brudna czerwień, zamglone. Piana: Niezbyt obfita ale trwała, oblepia szkło. Zapach: Wiśnie, lekkie nutki dzikie. Przyjemny. Smak: Lekko cierpkawe, wodniste, raczej wytrawne. Dużo wiśni, pestki i drewna. Goryczka raczej niska, taniczność na finiszu. Wysycenie: Średnie, OK. Opakowanie: Znośna etykieta, firmowy kapsel, niedokładny skład. Uwagi: Warka 24.04.19 Zdecydowanie najlepsze z pitych dotychczas.
