COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

[email protected], Tampere (old backlog). Hazy coppery amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some wood, mild cherries, floral notes and some slight sourness. Flavour is quite tart fruits/berries along with some wood, mildyeast as well as some earthy notes. The dry tartness manages to hide the alcohol rather well in this one.

Murky deep red - amber beer, good pale tan head. Nice maraschino cherry nose. Palate is light, semi dry and mildly crisp. The malt base is mildly sweet with a touch of cream. Great cherry - strong but mellow, no acid. Maraschino and black cherry in here. Slight bitterness in the finish. Nice one.

Bottle split at home, 21/11/15. Reddish brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is bakewell tart, straw, sweet cherry, marzipan. Taste comprises cherry bakewell, sweet red berry, light perfume, cherry xoaked straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Too sweet ... no complexity ... sub par for style.
