COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Petrus Aged Red is constructed from a base of Double Brown Ale. 15% Petrus Aged Pale is added to provide a dry character to the brew and give it a slight sour essence. Finally the brewer adds fresh cherries, which are evident in the rich thick head. Petrus Aged Red is a perfect blend of sweet and sour with a cherry undertone which makes this brew remarkably drinkable at 8.5% ABV.

I had this at Flying Saucer. Pours reddish with a tan head. Taste cherries, sweet, sour. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted 2016-06-21. Deep dark red. Clear with no head. Very pleasant cherry aroma. Acidic and ever so slightly bitter. Alc well hidden. Mild to the taste. Kriek meets brown ale.

If you like cherries this beer is for you. I thought the cheery flavor was fake but it isnt this beer is aged in cherries. Smells like cherries and tastes like a woodsy cherry elf brew.

Just the one! Firstly tasted this Petrus, I was just amazed! Starting from an invigorating, saturated, strong aroma, which turns to smell like a cherry blossom, but nothing near to Eau de Cologne, it comes to a full-bodied, strong, unforgettable taste. I thought it tasted more like Port wein, than beer. The only drawback is a slightly increased sourness, not covered by nice cherry sweetness. But, from all the other sides its close to be perfect! And, of course, it leaves behind all the kriek lambics just piece of cake. A cherry cake!

Clear dark ruby pour with garnet highlights and good ring of khaki head with a slightly pinkish twinge. AMAZING aroma of dark red cherry turnovers. Doesnt even remotely come off as fake or medicinal. Very authentic. Very excellent sweettart cherry juice with lots of carbonation. Just a little bit of syrupy sweetness that I dont quite care for, but other than that... And I juat Cant believe this even has 5% alcohol much less 8! Very fantastic!

Deep vanilla cherry candy notes. Deep brown with a slightly persistent light foam. Sweet and sour with notes of vanilla oak and cherry. Medium light bodied with high carbonation and a slightly sweet finish. Quite good a a wine replacement.

Ruby pour with light pink head. Aroma is tart cherries and mild acidity. Flavor is more of the same, cherry soda.

Red-brown color with little head. Aroma is some caramel malts, a bit of yeast and funk, and a hint of cherries. Taste is big on the cherries with a nice malt backbone that isnt overwhelming. Great all-around beer.
