Dark ruby red red as wine. The style is also called the Burgundy of Flanders, and is a very typical and common beer in West Flanders
Created by a secret blend of the aged and sour mother beer with fresh brewed sweeter beer, this beer produces a sour-sweet balance, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. A discovery! The best in its style! Light in alcohol, exciting complex flavors and tastes come to the forefront.
Although serving cold is recommended, taking time to drink it will release more aromas towards the end of your glass.

Pours off brown, maybe mahogany with head that does not retain for long. Sour fruit, maybe passsion fruit and cherry, are dominant on the nose. palate is medium sourness with a lot of passion fruit. Light bodied and somewhat medicinal, but still rather thin for what I was expecting. Finish has unpleasant sour funk. sour should be good, but is funky here.

Solid dark sour ale. The level of crisp tartness is such that this could be a good into to the style - not as harsh as others. The vinous (red grape) malting has some elements of my favorite Abt-syles (St. Bernardus and others). There is a lot to this beer, nnone of which is overdone. The only extreme is the amount of plegm it produces.

Drank in a sniffer. Sticky small brownish head with a nice dark brown poor. Aromas of green apples, pears and balsamic vinegar... You can feel the aromas of the oak aging. Flavors of raspberries, sour apples, a little bit dissapointing. Missing to the palate as well. Slight aftertaste of caramel.

This one certainly looks good - dark red-brown with a lovely foamy head. I couldnt make out much of a scent. Flavor was much like fizzy water. Palate is like a diet sprite. An overall disappointment.

On tap at Novare Res. Whoa, didnt expect a sour to taste this good to be honest! Pours a golden brown with an off white head. Aromas are dark malts, hints of sourness like apples, and some caramels. Flavor is crisp, clean, and sweet. The finish is a little sour, but not too sour as to be unpleasant.

Described as "Ouid Bruin" = Old Dark, top-fermented. Really very nice, and it was dark with a bit of a sweet taste. My first Belgian, I believe, and its true, they are like nothing else.

Donker bruin met rode glans, licht bruine schuimkraag. Neus, zurig, krieken, vanille. Smaak is aangenaam zurig, hout, beetje oaky. Finish is fris & droog, zurig maar niet extreeem. mooi gebalanceerd, goeie Oud Bruin

This is one of my favorite wild ales, perhaps because the sourness is somewhat more muted than others. It is sour yet it does have an element of maltiness with an oaky companion. The element of sourness definitely dominates, hops are not easily detected. The head is a foamy white that dissipates fairly quick and stays as a halo around the glass. The color is a slightly hazy dark brown. The nose is slight vinegar & sour plum. Poured from 11.2 oz bottle; 5.5 ABV ; 8.17 BD

Piana ładna, piwo bardzo ciemno-czerwone. W zapachu pestki wiśni, śliwka i żelazo. W smaku delikatna kwaśność, po czym z buta wjeżdża słodowa kontra.
