Pours a murky red with a foamy thick off white head. Nose is slight sour cherry and some dense woodiness with some old sock and bretty nose. Flavor is sour and funky up front finishes with a hint of cherry and a unpleasant metallic taste. Its light but its still detracting. Could have been great but as it was, merely adequate. lagermonkey (725) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAY 9, 2005
Pours a dark ruby red with a small head but very lacy. Smells very very fruity. Sour apple with an underlying sweetness. A bit of malt.
Taste is appley and yeasty but a bit watery. Better as it warms. Gets more sour and a bit maltier. Still tastes a bit like watered down Goudenband. Quite thin body and not much aftertaste.
This is OK but could be a bit more flavorful.

Very small fizzy head, with little lacing. Colour is a medium ro dark red. Aroma dominated by fruit: prune, date and cherry. Also some red wine in there, Kind of sourish, but not too much. Nice and easy going beer. Body is kind of light and kind of dry. BitchesBrew (716) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - DEC 20, 2007
[bottle] Murky brown in color, with a solid tan head. Funky aroma--woody malt and dark fruit, slight vinegar. Mild sour character in the flavor, with dominating vanilla and oak. Medium bodied. Quite drinkable. MrW (706) - Mechelen, BELGIUM - APR 30, 2012

(bottle) Dark brown body with a big, stiff tan head., moderate lace. Slightly musty/earthy aroma, wood, roasted malt, sour notes, fruit (cherry, apple). Light to medium body, lots of soft carbonation. Moderate sweet, sour fruit (grape, cherry, apple) and acidic, some yeast, dry finish. Nice balance. shintriad (701) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 9, 2005
Very dark, deep red with a short-lived pale beige head. Cherry, cobwebs and sawdust in the nose. The sourness is tempered by the aging, obviously, making it a very mild drink. After trying Rodenbach, this is a little dull on the palate, but still enjoyable. wnp22 (698) - Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, CANADA - DEC 7, 2003
Tasted in Toronto from LCBO. Tasted in Raftman tulip glass. Dark reddish brown colour, very small light white head. Very sour aroma, hints of sour berries. Taste is fairly muted and subtle. Slight sour taste with a dry finish. Feeling of strong carbonation. jgentgesdo (694) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - DEC 24, 2007
Pours murky brown with a medium foamy tan head. Nose reminds me of my last fruit beer while fermenting... slightly rotten fruit and yeast. Flavor is sour apple, apricot, prunes. Only mildly sour. Oaky, woodsy finish, fairly dry. Not bad. oberabcbbsok (692) - Hoboken, BELGIUM - JUN 25, 2007
